From the SP manual, seems tat ND to take out the RC vlv and clean the carbons on it. My RC vlv has NT been svc for years! The removal n installing is quite tedious. I would say if NT a trained mechanic on SP bikes, he may NT b able to realign the parts correctly. Mayb Bro Kindanni can help. He has been sugg some SP bros Mt up n share some bike exp. At the same time do some hands-on. I wonder if he is ok.

yes RC valve need maintenance alrd, better go to exp mechanic. it's not recommended for DIY, quite tedious.

Check the pulley system on the rc valve. Mine did the same thing too would not rev more than 7 k. Took a look and found out the nut holding the rc valve in place came loose which cause it not to function. Just a cheap fix to purchase a new nut.

The yellow knob is your idle adjust screw(if im not wrong). the jet is inside the carburetor.

some technical stuff

yellow knob = adjust the iddle RPM, CW to raise, CCW to lower. Nothing to do with rich/lean or jetting and our spec is 1300 RPM during iddling after engine warm up.

pilot jet = the so called small brass tube with a specific hole size inside our carbeurator, the main function is to supply fuel during iddle - 1/8 throttle. This guy is interchangeable to suit your needs, example if you are using open pod air filter to allow more air, you are supposed to increase the size of this pilot jet to increase your fuel intake to balance it out. widely sold everywhere, just need to know the current size you are using.

main jet = the smaller brass tube with a specific hole size inside our carbeurator, the main function is to supply fuel during 1/2 - WOT. also interchangeable, always put the correct main jet size to get the hardest pull otherwise service every week also won't bring the best of your bike performance.

needle jet = a very sharp needle that will go up and down blocking the main jet outlet, the main function is to control the fuel level being delivered during 1/4 - 3/4 throttle opening.

air screw mixture = a small bolt beside the yellow knob, the main function is to adjust the air intake during iddling. our spec calls for 2 turns out, but this one really needs personal touch to decide. 2 turns out is not always right becos our bike alrd aged, some part might alrd been worn out.

Sorry for the lengthy post..

Hi guys. I am new just got my bike nsr like few days ago. Been in love with SP since I was young and follow this thread since years ago. Recently passed my licence.

Went to a few shops to check on my bike just to get an overview of it and 1 shop told me i needed to change new piston for $700 and 2 others told me my piston is lose. some told me to just put thick engine oil and it'll be fine. Last owner showed full overhaul receipt done on January and it's only 2 months ever since. I don't want to sell this bike and I want to fix it. I am lost rn. Throttle cable i think got problem and he told me to change it and it'll cost me $40. I noticed hot oil(like black liquid) below the engine area. What engine oil, 2T should i use? Bike's handlebar seems to be wobbling when i'm breaking to stop at junction but runs smoothly when i'm at 80-120km/h. I hope those people from last time could see this and help me on giving me advices.
