What brand is your bike cover? Water proof?? Had been toying around the idea of making something similar to yours but its cover helmets

Sent from Blackberry Smartphones®

Forgot the brand. tested by pouring running water over it for few seconds and seems it does the job, but have yet to try it on actual situation.

Any step by step guide?

Firstly, you need to know the size of the bag. Once confirmed, place the bag on top of the bike cover. Then use a marker to outline the bike cover based on the diameter of the bag but do leave an ample length of about 2 inch for all sides. Once marked, remove the bag and cut out the bike cover. You can either use single layer of bike cover our double its layer. For mine, i doubled the layer to ensure that water wont surpass it.

Once you have cut out the bike cover, you will need to fold every corner of the bike cover and sow it. You can either use manual sewing kit or sewing machine. I used sewing machine to sow the rain cover as i feel its more secure. Do take note, do not sow the entire corner, just leave about 1 inch of the last part "not sow".

Once you have sowed the appropriate corner of it, then take out a stretchable string and attached a pin at the tip of the string. Use the pin and insert into the small hole which you have yet to sow. From here, you can push the pin through the hole but do it slowly. After much pushing, the pin will eventually come out at the end of the hole.

To use this cover, you just need to place it over you bag and then tie a ribbon knot on the stretchable string.

These are the steps needed to make a bag cover. Hope the instructions given were cleared. Feel free to comment if you have any doubts.

Thks for reading.

Thanks for the detailed steps. But do you have any problem with the sewing? Dont know if the needle and thread is durable enough to sew a groundsheet.

At first, had some problem with the sewing as i use the machine to sow. I adjusted the needle gap, problem solved. So if you plan to use sewing machine, best is to adjust the needle gap to the farthest. Buy a new thread, can endure those groundsheet.
