Hi

Planning trip to Laos via NongKhai/Vientiane.

I remember that there was a thread which highlighted the border procedures but can't seem to find it again.

Really appreciate it if anyone can help point me in the right direction

Thanks

Cheers

Hi Guy's,

Can someone advise me if its possible to Load my ST11 on the Night Train from Hatyai to Bangkok.

I am planning for the Cambodia trip in a few months time.

I understand that they manually carry it onto the Cargo compartment . Is it possible to do it ?

Pls Advise ?

Thanks in Advance

yes it's possible i had loaded up my vee strom 1000 that way, and there are others who had done it too.

stand by to pay about 2000-2500 bath for the bike due to it's weight, and the manual bearer 500 baht. one way.

all is done manually , and i suggest you prepare for some damages. scratches and mirror crack etc (unless you can remove the mirrors.

they have ropes to tie down the bike.

Thanks Bro...... Another thing what about our own Travel in the Train. What's the Cost ?

Is is possible for the same train to head to Aranyapathet (cambodia Border)Train Station(without unloading) or the only stop is at Bangkok.

nope not possible to have one single train , simon had has some very good link above you can read thru them

A rough guide for 1 way trip from Hatyai-Bangkok it about 2000-2500 bath for the bike , 500 baht for uploading tips and 1700 baht per pax for first class cabin mean for 2 , get a pillion so both of can use both the beds or you have to share it with strangers, and for down loading the bike you may have to tips 200 baht.

for Bangkok to Aranyapathet they have the train , but given the current political situation you have to check with the bangkok station itself after you down load from there.
