Is it normal that the back of the bike vibrates when moving off from a stop?

Posted

To me, it's harch. even my pillion said that the vibration is way too strong. it's like the back of the bike is shaking when moving off. what is the possibility of this problem? any idea?

It's a scooter. But depend how harsh is the vibration.

it's not for too long. just the moving off part. even the bike is moving and i open the throttle more, it will not vibrate. i think the vibration is too much. any idea what possible problem is this?

Posted

The vibration would come from transmission area. It could be many thing to check at transmission area

from clutch , bearing, bushing, till the whole gear assembly inside.. check it with few workshop to make comparison

thanks mudai. went to workshop to check. pulley skipped. that's what the mech said.

any idea what type of bulb gts 200 is using? is it recommended to put HID?

Posted

The main and lower build is H7 type. The main one use the normal H7. The dim light use the H7 xenon blue tinted. Hid i'm afraid will melt the reflector depend on which type. But again. If it's new bike u safe for 3 years. But if due for inspection seem u need to put the std bulb

Hello, need some advices here for my GTS200.

Just went for normal servicing, and since this is a 2nd hand bike, I actually changed the front drive face of my CVT together with the drive belt last week. Rear pulley remained untouched. However, previously I was achieving top end 110 kmh @ 7000 rpm, normal cruising 90 kmh @ 6200 rpm; now after changing the CVT component, I got cruising 90 kmh @ 7000 rpm, top end 100 kmh @ 7500 rpm. Even though I revved up to 8000 rpm, top end remained at 100 kmh.

Brought the bike back to the same shop, that technician said the rear pulley / clutch set to be changed as well!

Any opinion or experience to share here? The front pulley is SYM stock I believe, I am not sure if previous owner used heavier rollers.

Also, is there any good shop which can give honest opinion for GTS200 or generally scooters?

Thank you.

Ken

Glad you managed to fix it. And sounds like a cheap fix, lucky!

GTS uses a H11 bulb for both high & low beam. Instead of HID, try 6000K bulbs (I bought mine from Autobacs about $25) but some guys have changed to LED for cheaper. I'd recommend the LEDs. Someone in the forum is selling & installing, can't remember who....

while in fact, in the end, the problem lies with the clutch. wears off already. i got it changed. free of charge as bike still under warranty with bike shop.

I just changed my low beam to H7 6k HID.
