If it's for taking a loan for bike purchase, shops these days can waive the guarantor requirement if you place a small down-payment with them.

Not recommended to be guarantor for stranger because too many times can Chao Keng and both parties in trouble.

if really need, just get your family members ba.. I believe you might be young thus they insisted a guarantor..

back in the days in 2007 when I brought my bike, 3 months instalment, no guarantor nothing.. just that I'm short of $500.. that bike shop boss allow me to buy that $500 over the next 2-3 months then transfer ownership after that.. :)  but I was already mid 20s.. & not so much regulation that time.. all is based on mutual trust..

After 20 minutes of research.. I FINALLY found his new workshop...

but bear in mind.. I deal with him was 2007 (more then 15 years ago) definitely got changes..

and if you are only short of a small amount of cash.. you might want to discuss with him.. :)

Is it the bike shop might do any finance or background check before deciding if guarantor required for the loan? Or if you offer big enough down-payment then they find its less risk to give the loan.

I requested for the shop to waive guarantor for one of the zero down-payment loans cos I don't have any close persons in SG, after offering a down-payment the bike was ready for collection the next day with a generous installment plan. This was in Nov 2021.

Shop name is Speedzone Motoring at Kaki Bukit, if you want to try enquire.

Agreed.. Big enough down-payment. 15 year ago.. my bike cost me 2k.. I paid 1.5k and remaining 500 over next 2 months.. but I clear off next month cuz I want to own the bike asap.. 😛
