I bought a new 2017 Z650 in April from the dealer and they told me that since the bike model was started in 2017, they need to send for inspection. I asked if there's anything I can do to speed this up and they told me to call LTA to try to expedite the process as coming from the customer they might rush as compared to the shop.

I called LTA many times and they told me there was no records or requests of the the bike to undergo inspection. When I asked the dealer, he told me no word from LTA. LTA told me that he didn’t pick up their call. Has anyone kena like this before? Two months Abit too long ah

nv kena before.. but I heard it's only these 2 possibilities.

1) Bike still otw.. custom or main HQ (Kawasaki) issue. (Have you seen your actual bike in their shop already?)

2) Since they are fairly new to these dealership.. they will face difficulties with the common regulations. (Since they are dealing with backends, most likely you wun be able to chat up or connect with that person "behind the scene").

Lastly, April make deposit.. give it awhile more bah.. A lot of times, shipment from HQ (based on my people's words).. from other brands.. they only ship out once every 3-6 months.

Based on April, best case scenario - Jun ship out.. might be on the way.. or need to wait till end of month then ship out.. we wun know also.. best guess is wait till mid July? (if you haven't see your bike yet)

if already seen your bike.. then might need to check with LTA (ask your friends if they know anyone inside) and ask them to help out.. treat them a meal for that.. :)

call hotline technically no use.. LOL.. been there done that.. but different case from yours.. hahaha.. their turnover rate is high also.. the one I used to contact is no longer there..

the shop's reply sounds really dubious... have they collected any documents from you and $$$?

I would ask the shop for the proof of documentation for the submission. Else how are you going to be checking against their claim? If they truly submitted to LTA there should be some proof.

https://onemotoring.lta.gov.sg/content/dam/onemotoring/Buying/PDF/Importation_Guidelines/Motorcycle.pdf

Its a tedious process so there must be some documentations. Else the shop is just ghosting you.

IMO almost 99% of the shops in singapore does not want to do special imports because clearing the bike with LTA and is a big issue if its not one of those "common" bikes" the trouble might not be worth it.

Most likely official bah.. they are the official new dealer in Singapore for that brand.. I see advertisement everywhere on Facebook for them.. so should not be too wrong.. but u know la.. new dealership usually will face a few issues and etc.. so give and take wait awhile more lor.. as long coe not running.. I have no complains.. 🤣🤣

I sat on and started the bike already. It was already here 2 months ago. Paperwork is there. So the issue is behind the scenes I suppose. Hopefully by then COE not that bad ah.

I would still ask for proof of submission... Frankly i've seen new bikes in a shop sitting there for 6 years and its still sitting there... become display piece already.
