Bike Rental In Langkawi

I will be going to Langkawi on end March for LIMA 2013.

Will fly to Langkawi and I plan to rent a bike in Langkawi to travel around.

Any reputable bike rental shops to recommend and anything I need to look out for?

the last time i went there i rented a scooter outside my hotel(mutiara something), which i feel the bike is quite okay.

if i remember correctly, price is around RM 20/day.

do bring a bandana if you intend to use their helmet and....

 

watch out for cows. haha

i honestly recommend bringing your own open face helmet if you can.

 

bike rentals are everywhere, especially outside hotels and resorts. dun think recommendations are necessary. all catered for tourists. remember to bring license.

 

check the bike thoroughly for visual damages, coz they will do the same when you return to see any damage they didn see before and charge you for the damage.

 

top up immediately when you ride out, and fyi their petrol kiosk is you go counter and pay first then you pump. first time of coz no idea how much right? just ask the counter usually half-tank how much, then just fill up the amount you paid based on their suggestion.

 

the scooters are all auto, so if you never operate such a bike before..... have fun jerking to a sudden stop everytime you mistake the the rear brake lever for the usual clutch lever

I rented a scooter there for rm70/day. wearing of helmet is mandatory. many travel agents and resort have scooters/ kups for rent.

coz i heard must rent from licensed rental places...

if not, yr vehicle will be confiscated during the police road blocks...
