1. If you're doing the EFR for the first time it is free.

2. There will be two EFR slots for the day. 12.45pm and 2.40pm if I am not wrong. If you can't make it on the day itself or the slots are full, they will inform you of other slots. Could be the next day or week after.

3. After EFR, you will be directed to the office behind the motorcycle reporting counter one by one and given a slip of paper to apply for your Class 2B license.

4. After which, proceed to level 2 to get your license processed.

5. If you do not already have a Class 3 license, I think the application fee for a new license card is $50. If you already have one, it is FOC. They will just stick a piece of paper with the updated class of license over it and top it off with a protective film.

This was accurate at the time I passed, which was last year. Hope it helps and all the best. :D

Thank you, Mica! Having a class 3 license, although not necessary, I feel like updating my license by changing to a newer photo. ;)

Me too! But I'll probably wait for my 2A first.

took one time but fail tp many many times... i think unless you're really very good, it's about luck as well

Like what, 20 times? Took me 1 time for Practical 8, too. But failed on my first TP test. Waiting for my second attempt. TP test slot is so rare, it is a pain! A waste of time!

At 1:30 of this video, is that would be considered as "Wobble when/during lane changing" ?

That's not a wobble. Imagine you trace the path of your bikes front wheel from above. If you have a straight line no wobble if you get an s or a snakey line is wobbling

After u pass ur internal circuit evaluation, when ur able to clear corners and turns comfortably on the CB125, let me know. Hahaha! I'd be very interested to see how you handle the CBR400 - a bike with double the weight and triple the torque of the school bike ;)

I'll warn you first hor - compared to the CB125, the CBR400 will feel like an aircraft carrier!

And when u get to the litre bikes, those will feel like spaceships!

INDEED FELT LIKE AN AIRCRAFT, and that was comparing to an NSR150SP. lol.

Gd afternoon all! Awesome discussion by JrCherish!!!

For JrCherish: SP v KRR - There's no real answer to this! Having owned both of these in my first year, all I can say is that both bikes are truly awesome. I'll just highlight some differences I observed in the 2 bikes.

1) Power band - KRR has a more city-oriented power band. Linear power delivery and races hard off the line. For city riding, I find the KRR superior. The SP does poorly in the low gears - you can blast the RPMs hard in gear 1 and 2, and you'll still find yourself being frustrated when a Kup Kia moves off the line faster than you to 40km/h. Like all Honda engines, the SP's engine is a high gear, high rev monster - It shows its stuff beyond 70km/h. As the KRR starts to struggle at 120+km/h, you can still see the SP accelerating well past 140-150 before starting to encounter difficulty in pulling. If you do a lot of expressway riding, the SP will reward you greatly with amazing performance.

2) Weight distribution - sama sama, slight advantage to KRR. KRR feels lighter to many riders because its centre of gravity (CG) is closer to the typical rider's bodily centre of gravity. Pushing the KRR is easier and less of a struggle than pushing the SP (you'll have to push for sure - these stubborn bikes use outdated batteries which drain hard and fast - they often show attitude and refuse to start). Factually, they weigh about the same.

3) Cornering - advantage KRR. The KRR is easier to handle around bends because of its lower CG and linear power band. This is the KRR's biggest advantage over the SP.

Personally, because I did a lot more city riding, the KRR was a lot more user friendly to me.

Darkredmica: School bike vs SP - really no fight hehe!

1) Stability - On your expressway familiarization ride, you will find the bike being blown left and right by cross winds because its so freaking light and unstable at high speeds. I wouldn't ever want to take a 2B school bike onto the expressway for real riding. Too dangerous. The SP/KRR has no such problem in moderate winds.

2) Power - lol! School bike practically stops accelerating past 100km/h. SP will push hard all the way past 140-150!

3) Cornering - as JrCherish has mentioned, you can steer a 2B sportsbike by just leaning on the handlebars to initiate a turn since the rider's body is cleanly on top of the bike (as opposed to having the arms at chest level). Pushing the handlebars at moderate speeds will create a countersteer effect which you will come to understand slowly as you start riding more. The countersteer effect is less easy to understand or experience on a school bike.

4) 2A relevance - Although sports bikes have so much so much to offer, you will cry when you come back for 2A and realize that all the habits you've picked up from riding the SP have come back to haunt you! The S4 revo is a huge, unforgiving road bike which requires the relevant road-bike skills to ride. SP/KRR/TZM riders often have one hell of a time re-learning how to ride the S4 in school!

1. Don't change lane abruptly. Start earlier go gradually. Think and look ahead

2. Side clearance. If you supposed to form up 2 rows don't stay in the centre of the lane lor

3. Don't make wild turns lah. same as 1. Look ahead plan ahead

4. Check blind spot must drama a bit. Make sure you know all the places to check. Not sure ask Cher. That's what they are paid for.

5. Cancel signal lah.

Hello Everyone,

1st time posting here. Started my pract 1 lesson in last week of Aug. Now 4th time, still fail! Mostly because I cant do the slow speed braking part well. You know the part where instructor will put a cone abt 2.5 - 3m away from your starting line & youre supposed to make a start & brake at the cone location?

I found out the hard way, you cant make 'normal' start - too fast for this type of distance, so my split second action to throttle off, brake, declutch & left leg down looked too 'busy' for instructor's liking. So kena penalised. Today I didnt throttle at all, just biting point alone, bike so difficult to control - wobbling. Instructor said must 'tak yew' But if I "tak yew" I go a bit too fast. I scared I overshot the cone!

Another problem for that part, different instructors gv different instruction. 1 say use only rear brake. 1 say use both brakes. So 1 day both the instructors present to conduct that part. So this 1 rare time I did it cun cun with both brakes, but unfortunately the 1 who say both brakes already gone somewhere, so the one who say rear brake only saw me use both brakes say "no need front brake, just rear brake only". wtf! & then today another instructor also say both brakes, but more rear brake than front. But the funny thing is, most others will make mistakes elsewhere but not that part. Im completely opposite!

So many cant get the 1st activity - go around the circle in 3rd gear & stop in front of the instructor in 1st gear, correctly. I got that 1 1st time! But others can do the slow speed braking & I cant!

So now getting desperate. Really no confidence for that 1 part & getting very nervous when come to lesson time just because of this 1 thing. How to practice that 1 part?? Every lesson we get to do it 2 times only max.

Got anyone willing to be my sifu just so that i can get solid practice time for this 1 thing?

Today also du lan. Doing the cornering part, like doing figure 8. With previous instructor we go 1 by 1. So that time can do cun cun. With this 1 instructor we have to follow him. So keeping an eye of the guy in front of me, I missed my line so cant complete the exercise well. I knew from that time sure fail again.

Probably the only consolation I have is I never had the misfortune of falling down, dropping bike or knocking into stationary bikes like ive seen a lot of others do.

Grimlock,

No need to bring anything for orientation. Just bring yourself.
