I did my tp in the heaviest rain ever. Much heavier than today's rain. Go a little slower. Be calm. Becareful of plank as it gets slippery when it rains. And go a little slower for ebrake. They'll tend to give chance if it's raining.

Hey guys! How is it going? Any of the riders on probation here wearing a full face helmet?

Posted

Yes true, only normal helmet for learner riders. Probation as in for those in this thread who already passed. Those P Plates.

I think don't wear anything fancy. In case the instructors get jealous and make it harder for you to pass. I am not kidding. Some of them like to show off and pick on us.

I think he meant on P-Plate wearing full face not L plate wearing.

Yes, as per my post above.

U all must learn the stationary balance gearkick from @timewalker lol

Do you mean quickly lifting up the left leg & kicking down into 1st & then putting the left leg down again? If so, i did that a number of times during cr. Thankfully did not have to do it during L8 or test.

Not sure if a chk bk left is reqd 1st in order to do it, or if the instructors or testers wld frown on it tho.

Can some kind soul share the procedure of prac 5? Will we be able to reserve a bike if we are also doing circuit revision before that?

strictly speaking not allowed to chop bike. But some of us, myself included, still do. We just put our helmet on top of the mirror & its understood by the rest. lol

L5 in a nutshell - all of u will go out 1 round of circuit for warmup. Come back & park bike in ctr of nursery & attend briefing. Then go bk to your bikes & wait to be called out by numerical sequence of your tags. So if youre small number youll be among the 1st to go. 2 riders at a time will be at the starting line. When one gets called out, the next one will come & take the vacant place. If you exit nursery w/o instructor calling you out its IF. After finishing your ebrake, you ride bk to nursery, park bike, & wait for your results.

The circuit route is printed on the piece of paper given to you after L4. Pls memorise it & dont go a different route. Somebody from my L5 batch did, so IF for him.

There will be a team of 5 instructors. One opposite the nursery to call you out, one on top of the ramp, one at Fig8/crank, one at plank/slalom & 1 at ebrake. The 1 seated opposite the nursery will be the lead instructor of the session & he will compile the pts & remarks from the others & hand you your results after the session.

For Fig8, plank & ebrake look out for the blinker lights before you start. Proceeding before being called in is also IF. For hill start, crank & slalom its your own timing. But I had encountered certain instructors who preferred hand signals over blinker lights at plank or ebrake. So look out for these hand signals as well.

Hey folks, would like to clarify for road route 1, when u are heading down towards the U turn, when do we switch from left most lane to right most lane...

Is it...

- left lane to middle lane - must complete right after first over head bridge

- middle lane to right most lane - complete by the end of the bridge...

Correct ah? :p

Depends on traffic near the junction and traffic behind you. Keep left first, near the bridge go middle the finally go right.

Bruh go for another CR and have Mr Bahtera rerun through how the prac 5 should go and ask him anything you're unsure of. He clarifies a lot regarding my queries and after failing my prac 5 like 4 times . I passed on my 5th. Turns out, some of my blindspot checking or checking back right is in a wrong order.

For example, in crank course if it's not safe for you to exit, just stop before yellow box. After safe to exit, check back right blindspot left (signal should already on to the left) and move off. Tricky part is if there's no space on the left lane (Riders queuing for their fig 8) cut to the right smoothly (not sharply) , once out of the crank course, quickly change signal to the right and blindspot right. Then keep left after the queue.

Can some kind soul share the procedure of prac 5? Will we be able to reserve a bike if we are also doing circuit revision before that?

Try to do CR before prac 5. Get use to the bike. Love it? end your CR early, park at the most inside part of the parking lot. Come prac 5, after exercise and maybe what instructor got to say, quickly go to your bike straight away. That is if you're scared to get scolded for putting your helmet on the bike like what jbdoggy mentioned.

Annd guys, may I know what else do we do in Prac7 other than uturn? Still camping on the site because all is on weekdays afternoon, I'm a fulltime so doesnt fit in the schedule. Hais
