I manage to chance upon the tp on one occasion. THe mood was very serious and the vest worn also create a very somber mood with mechanics checking the bikes and people crowding around. Not sure if it is always like that.

I vaguely remember that they are selling something like that at cdc. If you go to the cus service, look at the pc area where you book lessons there and see the ad on the wall between the pc. Saw a black bag with a logo on it for 10 dollars but didnt read the details. it is not arai though.

hey, reread you post, helmet bag, it usually accompanies the helmet

I've got a pretty dumb question...what happens if you can't park the bike on the main stand? Cos I just had my second prac 1 today, and I couldn't even put it up once. I put my full weight on the main stand, but can't. Will they fail people because of that? :S

On a slightly happier note, I could get the bike off the main stand thanks to people here. (:

Hey guys, recently went for outfield orientation, pretty much waste of time (and money), go there, instructor tell us things I can easily look up online or the booklet, then give us the PDL form and then went to do the stand on the motorbike.

After that I read the booklet, seems like a lot of things were skipped like checking motorbike parts and pre-ride checks and all that. Is this normal? Feel like I'm not getting my money's worth. And more importantly, will the TP test us on pre-ride checks?

You will learn how to do per-ride check in lesson 6.

Don't worries. Your main idea is to do well in the lesson they teach. And learn as much as you can. They may not teach everything in the booklet but you will know the essential stuff. Things not cover is pillion riding part.

Agree it's waste of time and money. They can cover most of it in lesson 1. Get used to the feeling of paying too much.

hi

thank you for sharing. Would like to ask you to share what do they look out for on tp day, and what happens that day. Are they very strict? do they like slow riding or a bit more confident and fast riding? How many instructors are there?

Also do they look at your booklet to see how many lessons you go etc...

2. Are they strict ?

They all look very serious and fierce lol. That depends on your luck and performance

3. Do they like slow riding or a bit more confident and fast riding

4. How many instructors are there?

Instructors will be station near all TP testers location circuit and road.

* If you knock on the (shalom) *touchwood* no need to pick up just carry on.The instructor will do for you

5. Do they look at your booklet to see how many lessons you go etc...

No. but bring along with you

Memories. :) Well, there is a lot of nervous waiting around. Don't forget any of the required documents. A list of everyone taking the TP will already be posted at the assembly area, it includes your bib number and therefore the order you will go in. They go by IC number so it's foreigners first, then locals, older people first, youngest last. A school instructor will give an overview of the course in great detail (which you should know by heart already) and answer any questions. Don't be shy to ask anything. Then you can go for a warm-up round of the circuit. Then more nervous waiting. At some point in time the TP examiners will show up, check all your paperwork. More nervous waiting. Eventually the test will start, it's 1 by 1 waved off by the closest examiner with a big gap between riders. The key to passing is to remain calm and do what you have done many times before. The examiners like confidence, but confidence isn't riding fast, it's riding smooth without wobbles. Don't do anything stupid and don't get an immediate failure. Yes they are very strict, but you can still get lucky and they might not notice your mistakes in the areas where only one examiner is watching. There is no break between circuit and road, after e-brake it's straight out of the school and onto the course. Plan that transition in your head, make sure you understand where to change lanes. Give way to pedestrians on crossings inside school grounds, it's a silly way of getting an immediate failure. The road part of the course is easier in my view, again, just a matter of relaxing and not doing silly things (like charging traffic lights, unnecessary overtaking, etc). Once back at the school, do not **** up - you can get a massive amount of demerit points in the section between re-entering the school and parking your bike. Watch the lane changes, check blind spots, give way, etc. Park the bike on the stand and breathe out. Go get some lunch, it takes a long time for results to come out.

yah TP very strict. cannot even wear number tag walk around the driving centre during the waiting time. They are more particular in the checking than the courses.

i saw before 40kg girl put a class 2 bike on main stand so everyone should be able to do it. it is more on technique. the bike must be straight and not leaning to any of the side, then use your body weight and step on the stand, and pull on the rear of the bike

Good luck to CDC students taking TP test tomorrow. Don't rush and try not to look at the testers (only at start point for hand signal). Got one abang go up slope saw the tester panic put right leg down somemore wasted and he failed for IF. Don't stress yourself up and take it like a revision and go through the courses with a breeze :thumb:
