Will just like to put it out there. Pls don't be a dumb fk and tailgate other bikes closely. This is not Malaysia where all the brainless bikers love to tailgate other bikers and make it more dangerous for both the other biker and themselves. If you follow the bike in front super closely when there's no need to, you are making it more dangerous for everyone. The bike in front can brake or swerve anytime and hit you. So many times I have had either JB bikes or other 2B bikes (bigger bikers are more aware so they usually don't tailgate much) come so close to my bike from the back, and once i braked, very gradually somemore, yet the stupid JB bike almost hit me because he was tailgating me so close, when the road was COMPLETELY empty.

If it's a traffic jam, that one understandable, u have to follow other bike in front of you closely, if the road is clear yet you still tailgate, you better stop riding and take public transport.

aiya.. chill chill. I think some riders is just to ask you to move aside. I do encountered a few riders who die die must stay in between lanes, even if there's spacing. I know you are referring to those like to tailgate.. haha.. kanna a few times.. just move left side.. if still tail gate, on hazard light slowly slow down on road shoulder ask him what he want.. hahhahahahaha.. actually once you move to left lane. I think most people will overtake you.

Kindly read thru at least the intro section first before decide to post any comments.... thanks...

Please proceed to this website/web link if you guys have any technical issues on Kawasaki Kips/KR150, I'll update the 1st POST as and when there's a new question. Newbies questions on the top as well. :)

i think he did mention the road was "completely empty".
so it's not a case of lane splitting in a traffic jam

but even in a traffic jam, it is not wise to tailgate just to tell the person in front to move aside
normally, i will just find opportunity to change to another lane and then come back to the first lane
and i find tailgating a very provocative gesture; i wouldn't do that to signal anything
if anything, tailgating feels like a signal that you want to challenge people.
best don't do that

LOL.. ok la. Let's say the road is clear at midnight, tailgate is 100% no no.. for this scenario, I'll 100% speed up, if it's beyond my comfortable speed, I'll turn hazard light on and keep left, see if the tailgater will stop also lor. but at this time, they will already move on.

But keeping a safe distance while following, I think still alright. (I always do that, just want to follow someone if it's along the way? Like better than riding alone?)

Yes, I might do the same as you for overtaking but alot of time, the traffic doesn't allow that, too congested. Might as well just follow the rider infront, and sometimes, being forced to follow nearer, because that rider behind you is too near. if not confident or feeling "pressured", I might just keep right or left to let the "entire row" of bikers go and tailgate that biker instead. haha.. I usually ride during 8-9am and 6-7pm, so you can imagine the traffic.. LOL...
