" the bike uses the same parallel-twin engine, steel frame and basic running gear as the 2013 Kawasaki Ninja 250, which means 379lbs (wet) and 31bhp. The Ninja 300 weighs the same, costs $4,700 and makes 39bhp."

So looks like it's a different engine then?

in some countries, for wateva reason that i dont know of, a new 'Ninja 250' is sold alongside the 'Ninja 300'. the new 'Ninja 250' looks identical to the 'Ninja 300' except it uses the same 250cc engine as the outgoing/old Ninja 250. i suspect these countries tax their bikes based on cc and maybe a 250 bike has much lower taxes than a 300.

Therefore, a Z250 uses the same older 250cc parallel twin of the outgoing Ninja 250, just like the new Ninja 250. but if you get the Z300, then it would have the same engine as the Ninja 300. we dont bring in the new Ninja 250, only the 300, so if they ever bring in this naked, it would surely be the Z300 using the same engine as the Ninja 300.

It's true: it's more fun to ride a slow bike fast than to ride a fast bike slow. Admittedly, though... It is MOST fun to ride a fast bike fast!

hi, been observing this thread quite a while. im interested in the naked Z300 which hopefully be on our shores. at the same time, the ER4F aka ninja 400 is also on my hit list. both are cool bikes. now im at a decision making. duno which bike to choose.

from wat i understand the ER4 is no longer sold due to poor response due to its price tag which is only marginally less than the ER6, coz they're essentially the same bike.

you might instead want to look at the CB400F or CBR400R which some at another thread claimed have arrived at shops today.
