Doubt it right? Usually private settlement are verbal which are just a pain if something goes wrong. Though in contract law, verbal agreement is considered as a binding agreement in Singapore law. Not sure how it will work in his case. Either way I hope things will get better for you man.

U are required to report to your insurance company even if it's a private settlement, this is to prevent dispute in future.

Even if it's a private settlement, report to your insurance company within 24hrs.

 

Don't care about the other party if he is going to report or not.

Just take it as a lesson learnt. there are more low lifes that you can imagine so report accordingly.

sorry to hear that, but see what the insurance company has to say, maybe there's alternative. make sure to report to insurance even though it's private settlement.
