currently, ive

 

1. replaced front rim

 

2. replaced front tyre

 

3. replaced front rim bearings

 

4. replaced steering cone bearings

 

result: the bike still wobbles at high speed. could it be the front forks?? i suspect another thing, could be my front brake rotor/caliper as well.

u have answered ur own question.

 

on a side note: its really absurd to think that a 4 rims of a suzuki swift will cost u around almost $300, while my front rim alone cost will cost me $500+. (for a 250cc) o_0

 

Absurd?....certain bicycles have parts more ex than both cars n bikes hehe

U know maybe it's not the front afterall...u check ur rear...I mean the bike's rear?

Wobble or shimmy begins when some otherwise minor irregularity accelerates the wheel to one side. The restoring force is applied in phase with the progress of the irregularity, and the wheel turns to the other side where the process is repeated. If there is insufficient damping in the steering the oscillation will increase until system failure. The oscillation frequency can be changed by changing the forward speed, making the bike stiffer or lighter, or increasing the stiffness of the steering, of which the rider is a main component.[2] While wobble or shimmy can be easily remedied by adjusting speed, position, or grip on the handlebar, it can be fatal if left uncontrolled.[4]

 

Since shimmy frequency is independent of bike speed, gyroscopic effects "are clearly not essential to the phenomenon."[2] The top five influences on wobble have been found to be lateral stiffness of the front tire, steering damper, height of bike center of mass, distance of bike center of mass from rear wheel, and cornering stiffness of the front tire.[3]

 

An academic paper that investigated wobble through physical experimentation and computer modeling concludes: "the influence on wobble mode of front tyre characteristics, front frame inertia and chassis stiffness were shown. In particular, it shows that [by] increasing front tire inflation, stiffness chassis, and front frame inertia about steering axis and decreasing sideslip stiffness of front tire, wobble mode damping is improved, promoting vehicle stability."[5]

i already checked the rear. tyre bushing looks fine. ive been using 650 rear monoshock since few months ago. i changed new rear tyre and did a wheel balance. any other areas to check for the rear?

 

bro yh: damper is the last resort. if i install it, and it still wobbles, im gona jump out of the window.

Damper is an investment bro.. Good for high speed.. If side mount, its transferable..

yesterday, went banhong to clean carb, change fork oil, eo, oil filter, tightened the shim. bikes feels good but the high speed wobbling still occurs. next plan, change handlebar.

My leg wound has stop healing at 40 percent left.. Not sure why.. Just left with 3 patch.. No difference for 2 weeks already..

Sweet.. Looks more like vara.. I do need to go back.. But not so soon.. Jb got alot of cheap steering damper.. Alot of rxz and superfour get their damper there.. I have one spare ducati 916 steering damper.. But too short for our bikes..

Heeeelllllloooooo everyone.... PH here!!! How's my bros doing? Just some update on my ride.

 

1. Just replace side mirrors @ motoworld which cost $180 (got fed-up with cheap ones always loose or something bound to happen to them)

 

2. Replace front signal lights @ motoworld $60 (very2 bright led)

 

3. Carb setting got problem (it was my own itchy hands go and disturb the two setting screws on the right side of the bike, when the actual problem was the loose spark plug hehehehe.... Now my idling is 25 or above at time and when i lower the idling a bit it will drop drastically and stall. So now i ride with high idling... 25 to 30 at times... so far the top speed now can reach 122, not frequent though but overall everything's good.)

 

4. Someone with itchy hands go and dent my bike body frame left side. I got down to my mscp last week and saw the side frame dent and got really2 pissed off. If i found out the f**ker i'm gonna cut his d@@k off!!!

Take a peekture of the dent for me bro.. Might be able to fix it for you.. The two screw.. Just turn in all the way and turn out 3 and half turn.. Make sure you dont turn in too tight..
