My colleague just bot Daytona, two tone with diamond markers.

Only $16,800 , cheaper than stainless steel one leh....bah...

is like that one. due to market movement for the SS which is better even thou it is juz SS.

Don't be surprised bro. The price difference between TT and SS daytona is even bigger for pre-owned.

agree. can be even up to 2k diff for the same series. this is what i saw in a preowned shop when SS daytona and TT side by side. :giddy:

i get it 7k flat, from right person of cos.

Quite ok price as you got it in Singapore.

Can get at $6500, but not in singapore.

Explorer II $6200, GMT master II $5800

All brand new. but price was last agreed about 4 mths ago.

Might be a little more now but shouldnt be much more.

Hmm, no wonder. Saw a pre-owned TT Daytona for sale at a low price at the 2nd hand dealers sometime back.

no point comparing price where ppl in foreign country can queue up to get premium which is lower than $6.5k.

End of the day when buy watches must be happy. sometime in time when u have cash, u can't buy it when no stock. this is the most "ai wan" one.

this sub i almost bought 7444 also, lucky still can get a deal on with another dealer which is cheaper cause i don't believe sg no more stock as many else have mention.

Yah, nowadays where got such thing as not available for standard Rolex Sports.....Sub, Explorer, GMT many places available lah. here dont have just go there. Even if not available, it's only for short period, then the shipment come already....

Yo brothers,

Would like to check with any classic Omega speedmaster aka "Moon Watch" owners:

Is it a good watch for every day wear? Seems like they only come in Manual winding movement. And theres a dozen of variations and limited editions.

Already have a SD but seldom wear.

Yes, i have the speedmaster moonwatch. It is automatic not mech winding. very good as everyday trash watch but glass is not sapphire so will scratch and require polishing. It's my first and only Omega bot in 1998. Gave to my Dad long ago. Never broken down in 9 yrs. Serviced once, i think $300+

The other variations are not known as the Moonwatch. you want trash around watch, can also consider standard Rolex DJ or Bell and Ross or Tag Heuer. or just buy a secondhand Rolex sports also can. All are quite hardwearing

Hmm... The website quote:

Speedmaster Professional

Steel on Steel

Reference: 3570.50.00

MOVEMENT

Caliber: Omega 1861

Famous manual-winding chronograph movement that was worn on the MoonPrefer chronograph for eveyday wear.

Which is which?

Anyway, I cant be bear to trash around with my SD.. Prefer chrono for everyday wear

Cool to see this thread here... wonder if anyone has any advise/comments on these 4watches that i cant decide on

1) JLC Squadra Chrono

2) JLC Grande GMT

3) IWC Perpetual Cal

4) IWC 7 days reserve

all running on in-house movements, but all of them got something I like and dislike abt it that I cant decide which one to get. So i hope throwing my choices out to the floor can help me decide.

thanks guys!

All are nice watches, can share with us what do you like and dislike for the 4 models?

well... it all started with me toying with the idea of getting a companion for breitling. Wanted to get something more than the usual chrono.

hence, the squdra. like it cos its the cheapest of the lot and with a GMT display on the sub-dial, not to mention its a reverso (another plus), and the big face! i got a close to 7in wrist lah. however, it being a auto movment, the sarpphire back does not bring out the beauty of its movement... in fact, i think its kinda ugly ...haha

2nd JLC, wow... classic reverso! with 2 displays of 2 time zone... a 24hr indicator, GMT offset and not to forget... 8days power reserve. manual winding, is good cos my other watches are all automatic movements. however fear, its a tad too 'dressy' and the brown leather belt not too nice leh (prefer black) like damn lao

3rd, the 7days reserve IWC port. updated 5000series movement... love the size and the thickness! other than that nothing much, to think that the ss model is also a white face like my brietling (one too many white faces no uniqeness lah)

4th, perpetual cal IWC port!... the white gold with silver face one really nice! but if you notice, its really 2x the cost of the others. not exactly my budget and i am really wondering if i should stretch for that....size is good, thickness is good, no need to adj dates (hahaha) 7days reserve...

so... if you noticed, i am kinda confused lah! :-)

cheers!

ps: did i read somewhere, someone has taken a fancy on the AP ROO? why not have a look at the Hublot Big Bang or Bigger Bangs... like more unique leh

these 2 pairs from JLC and IWC are so different....no wonder u r confused.....but then u probably need to identify which criteria is most important to you....then you can narrow down and see which one fits u the most....

i wouldnt say whether the BB is more unique compared to the ROO or vice versa cos the choice of a watch is so subjective and personal.......ppl usually buy what they like....

Try all 4 on your wrist. Buy the one that you like most.

I agreed with explorer, these 4 watches are so different in terms of case shapes, functions, winding mechanisms, type of metals and prices except they are all leather straps watches. Not easy to make comparison so it will very much depends on your own “feels” towards the four. As for myself, I like simple movement watches and I am sure you know which one I am going to pick.

arghhh... and i like the most expensive one most!...damn. yeah going to try them tomorrow.

while surfing and trying to decide...

one more surfaced one, the IWC regulateur. How Phang, this one more simple looking :-)

finally bought the Breitling instead of the Ball. All my fren dissuade me from getting Ball no matter how hard i try to promote......n everyone agreed Breitling or Omega is the better choice. Dear mates, is 30% +5% a good discount for Breitling watch? And if I have surplus $ at yr end, any shop to recomm to get Ball with more than 30% disc cos so far best disc given is by Cortina. All Watches offered only 20% n thats final......
