how to identify fake rolex. any tips?

 

example, if your frz pass to u to see? what are the simplest method to identify.

 

I feel my frz rolex, sub abit light.. no solid but cant tell fake or not??

if you own a rolex, you will know the difference once you hold a fake in your hands.

 

remember, a Rolex has no flaws, no rough poor finished edges and perfect dimensions.

 

I give you some of my own personal tips not from any book or website.

 

1. use your fingernails to knock on the sapphire crystal, a real one produces no sound basically becos it is thick solid sapphire crystal. fake one gives a "hollow sound"

(imagine clinking a wine glass versus clinking a solid whisky glass)

 

2. MArkings and etchings and quality of a fake Rolex will be imperfect somewhere. you just have to spot it. There is no room for flaws in a Rolex.

 

3. Movements. Rolex have fine smooth movements. hold one in your hand and rotate the movement by going in circles. you will hardly if at all be able to feel the movements in your hands (for the none chrono models). The chrono models you may be able to feel the movement of the pendulum but it is very smooth and balance and delicate.

Fake ones, you can even heard the rough movements grinding if you listen really hard.

 

* remember you can bluff others, but you cannot bluff yourself.

If its based purely on just looking at the watch.

 

look at the markings on the crown, bracelet

 

look see if got hacking movement

 

look at the bracelet see if made properly

Dude, that's as good as not saying

All average fakes now have marking on crown, bracelet, hacking movement (you only know if you pull out the crown) and nice bracelet.

 

not many people can tell just by looking (although I can)

nope it is not difficult to find. almost every Rolex carrying shop also have it nowadays. not many pieces but not difficult to find at all.

Depends on the condition but Daytonas are still the most sought after Sports model so I would reckon $10k up.

I got a white dial simply becos my sub was black.

so adding a bit of variety to my rolexes.

 

I beleive the black one is slightly more sought after as with all Sports rolexes.....dont know why. maybe nicer?

Cantonese rolex means low lai si , then white is pak seh

so White rolls means Pak Low (earn for nothing )

thats y cheenas like us would avoid white faced rolls
