I tried to share but cannot leh. Its a summer edition so not so hot for use in sg, i like the cooling effect while using the jacket...below the armpit and back...i think its due to the material use, unlike normal cotton jacket.

These are basic protection gear, why overkill?

Been using these gears for years when riding. First protection, 2nd is that it is actually cooler to ride with the jacket instead of being baked under the direct sun.

The Komine brand is good value for money.

Yeah its surprisingly cooler while riding using this jacket. I guess its due to the mesh at the important area.

At least its not stuffy wearing it unlike normal jacket plus with the minimum protection, i guess its better than nothing. I see a lot of ppl riding bikes wearing shorts, tees and slippers. I wonder if they really like the feeling of having their skins rub against the tarmac if they happen to skid. Most of the accidents happens in the city on daily commuting. Most of them said they only wear it during touring.

Wow bro! The jacket and gloves look good. Price wise I think the jacket is within my budget. Just to check, does it provide any rain protection? I don't expect it to be as good as a riding raincoat, but short distance has it been good?

It doesn't provide rain protection as this is meant for use in hot weather. For leg i use komine k04-611.

I wear a mesh riding jacket, perforated leather gloves and waterproof riding boots daily. Choosing the right gear for the weather will greatly lessen the discomfort of wearing them. When I was in the US where the weather is cooler, I often see sport riders wearing full leathers even though they are not going to the racetrack. There is no such thing as "overkill", although you should dress appropriately for the type of riding you intend to do. (For example, leathers are not for enduro.)

I prefer mesh type summer edition as our weather are mostly summer. Raining...i don't ride, at most find shelter.

A mesh armoured jacket is fine for the local weather.

No point getting a waterprooof jacket. It does not rain everyday, and when it rains just wear a raincoat over the jacket. Remember to get a size bigger so that the raincoat can fit over the jacket nicely.

Don't see the point of getting a waterproof riding jacket. You get baked under the sun unless you get a really good waterproof riding jacket with enough pockets for air flow.

And when it rains, the waterproof liner is probably next to useless in a storm.
