Below is an email reply from TP which I've received.

I e-mailed them to ask regarding the parking fees of the carpark.

So, here's their reply:

Sub: CAR PARK BARRIERS INSTALLATION WORK

 

 

Temasek Polytechnic is in the process of installing Electronic Parking System (EPS) in the campus. This project has the three-fold purpose of:

 

 

a) enhancing security on campus;

 

b) preventing unauthorized parking within our campus and

 

c) ensuring the availability of parking lots for staff and students.

 

 

As the Electronic Parking System (EPS) will read the serial number of the in-vehicle unit (IU) that is mounted in our vehicles, we will capture in Estates & Facilities Management Dept's (EFM) database the IU numbers as well as particulars of students/staff who drive into the campus and activate the car park system for free access.

 

Should you have any queries, please contact our EFM security helpline at 67872520. Thank you.

If they install the EPS that means bikers have to pay for parking as well? That's like so unfair! You're students and we still have to pay?

er bryan, do read the reply Fatal got from the sch again. or u didnt read it at all. haha. its still free parking for staff and students. guess this is done due to ppl parking in our campus during lunch time and walking over to 800plus for lunch.. guess its a good move. but morning sure jam one la i think. without barrier already jam liao. haha.

 

hmm on the other hand. doesnt it means that we have to "register" our vehicles with the school? :confused:

lolx! obviously bryan didnt read my post properly even after I BOLD the sentence.

 

I tink bikes should not be a prob bcoz as wat impheatus had feedback previously, bikes could easily weave thru the barrier gap.

as for cars, guess we have to reg our vehicles or let them store the IU serial no. in their database 1st.

 

anyway, I would make a phone call to confirm the details again b4 the sch reopen.
