here's a reminder to change battery every 2~3 yrs.

my battery is not holding any charge coz more than 2 yrs old.

stator coil charging below spec 13+ volts instead of 14.5 (+-0.5) volts as per manual.

in addition to bi-yearly maintenance (it means every two years) change your fork n brake oils.

oil will oxidised over the years n it's properties will deteriored (it's called oxidisation).

new fork n brake oils will revitalise operational functions.

it was heavy rainy storm in past week.

i was startle in a second when press start button, everything just go blackout, no electrical power.

found out it's the old battery not holding electric charge n stator coil not giving out enough power (below spec 14~15 volts) to charge battery.

change both parts, now can see headlight shines brighter than b4.

Uncle Soh, can u manage to start it with kick start ?

rw got no kick start, did push start. my bike startup easy.

engage in second gear, clutch-in for disengagement n push bike.

run about 2-3 meters, release clutch for engagement, rear wheel spin engine.

engine started clutch-in to disengage, let engine idle n warm-up then ride to cka for repair.

Ha ha ha then now should be ok liao... :) cool & enjoy riding

err..sorry if i had to ask so many questions before..i'm still new to biking but learning alot about the roadwin from this forum..i was going thru the manual just now and came across the "Air Cleaner" part..i wondered if it could be the cause of my bike's high fuel consumption..so i checked the air cleaner in my bike for the first time and after unlocking the screws, i found that there was no air cleaner element inside at all. i guess the previous owner removed it or something and never told me about it. hmm..i'm wondering if it will damage the engine as said in the user manual..

it's called "air filter" instead of "air cleaner".

well, without air-filter your engine will suck in larger size dirt, sand, leaflet, etc depends on where u r riding.

lucky the box air-inlet is facing rear (aft), small n under the seat so not much possibility for large object be suck into engine.

it won't coz damage to your engine but dirt will clog-up in your carburetor n inlet valves, might create some problems later.

my advise is install back oem air-filter (paper type), it is to be replace every 25,000 km.

damn..i fell on my roadwin sideways..was taking a turn on a sandy road and got too close to the curb, hit the front breaks my tyres skidded..left side of bikes now has some scratches and my clutch pedal is bengkok..but still can ride..:sian:

do ride with care.

even i getting careless whilst riding, my eyes start wonder elsewhere instead of straight ahead.

ride safe, ride to live n live to ride.

yeah..have to be very careful next time..taking this as a lesson. hmm..i realize when i start my bike, the rpm in neutral gets lower n lower..yesterday was about 1.5 and now its less than one and then the engine dies off. i adjusted it back to 1.5 again and it gets lower each day or as when time comes..could it be that the screw is loose? or is it a cold weather

wat i did to rectified it was unscrew the idle screw out.

u will find the tip-end is sharply pointed.

file tip-end round or a bit flatter so tat it will not dig into the throttle valve when it is lift up n down.

screw back the idle screw n set idle speed.

tat belly-pan is rw accessory.

no problem installing it on 2004 model.

but u need to have rubber dampers on it's clamps becoz it will rattle.

also need to strengthen the mid-section becoz vibration will crack it.

rw webbies in europe reported this defects.

haha...erm..is it possible to install the fairing below the engine just like the 2005 model in a 2004 model? has anyone tried it?:cheeky:
