Meet 8am for breakfast at GP Esso Hawker center, depart 8.30am

 

1. Bring rain gears.

2. Get enuff sleep the night before.

3. Bring enuff RM for petrol & food. Food estimated less than RM100.

4. Anything else? :smile:

Superb trip, weather was great, keep seeing dark clouds on the way, but keep passing thru; it never rained on us the whole trip.

You are right about the popiah near mdm King store; its mouthwatering fantastic!!! The makan trip turn into a sightseeing tour as well, coz we park our bike in a hidden alley, then roam around for picture taking. :smile:

Part1.

The food we tried so far, oyster mee suar, chendol, Medan ikan bakar & the popiah just outside Mdm King store. The rest of the makan place, we couldn't find them; perhaps the GPS coordinates wasn't too accurate.

The verdict on the Oyster Mee suar was not good, i give it a 5/10 only. The quality wasn't consistent too, and the oysters are too few.

 

The Ikan Bakar place was sited on quite a scenic location, next to mouth of a river, where colorful fishing boats are parked. The food here is basically nasi lemak rice to go with all the various fresh seafood. The cost of the makan ends up about RM25 per person, in spite of ordering lots & lots of seafood . The reason why it is so cheap is we believe only the locals know about this place.

 

 

First we eat the oyster mee suar here. It was disappointing.

Then we walk along this street, to a chendol shop. We were told that on weekends including fri & sat, there is a pasar malam here further down.

The Chendol here is pretty delicious. I give it a 7/10.

After the sightseeing, we walked back to our bikes which are concealed in a hidden alley. We feel this could be the safest place, unless a thief happens to past by the alley, our bike should be safe.

Then we moved off with our bikes to meet Yeong59 and his group near the Admiral Cheng Ho ship relic place. From there, we move in a big group to Pulau Melaka island.

Part6:

After exploring the Pulau Melaka island, we tried looking for the kueh kueh food, but can't find it. So we proceed for our dinner at a very scenic place. This place is called Medan Ikan Bakar. The cost works out to be just RM25 per head or S$12. I think the dinner here was extremely cheap & delicious. i give it 8/10 for this place. The ambience here was also fantastic, especially when it was sunsetting.

If you guys roamed around the alley near Mdm King, you would have found the shellfish stalls with very 60's style of eating where you sit on really low stools with equally low tables. However, I think that it is enough of seafood for you guys from all the seafood devoured at Medan Ikan Bakar place. :slurp: Great trip report, Tim! Looking forward for the next trip!

i alway go to bottle tree for dinner.... the jeti behide the bottle tree... very nice...

 

u got go there ??? u can ride all the way to the jeti....
