wahhhhh... ure really chionging all the way man.. Before, I enter NUS, i was happily lazing around Pulau tekong becoz haven ORD yet.. hahhaha.. doing the stupid clearance..

 

I kinda miss tekong life.. Weekend slack COS, tekan recruits, swimming pool and spec mess.. miss jogging the coastal route with the little dog following u around..

i went to burmese-organized chalet yest...

i am amazed by burmese teens... ard age 20...

they were playing guitar with shakers and bells, singing (amazingly v nice tunes)

 

while the chalet beside was bombbarded with sg teens running around screaming. lol.

 

makes me wanna learn guitar...

can play guitar, sing coldplay's song..emo besid the sea. woohoo!

u want im selling my guitar for half price.. :) coz i wanna get a new one...

 

My advice, dun buy an expensive guitar first, bcoz you might not play it for long..(first reason of withdrawal is fingers pain).. get a cheap guitar first ($60-$80).. and if you really like it and can play for long, then get those good ones..

actually thats not true...a cheap guitar makes it harder to play....higher action (ie the distance from the strings to the fretboard is further...so you haf to press harder to get the sound out....which makes is harder for beginners to play....but if u can do it...u will find it much easier to play with a good guitar...but of coz dun go and buy ibanez or fender (which can reach up to 4 digits price)..unless u can afford it)

No regrets.

common mistakes in starting to learn guitar (which i did too) is......

 

learning to play songs immediately.

 

Thats what most pple do. and as a result they are stuck at a certain level only. You have to learn the theory as well (of coz its the boring stuffs)....things such as the standard tuning, what are the notes on each frets, remember the chords and why is it shaped that way, different techinques of strumming, different guitar techniques (pull-offs, hammer-ons, vibrato, bends, bla bla), which notes goes well with the other

 

more advance will have to learn scaling (not the dentist scaling but guitar scaling coz theres the foundation of all the kick ass solo)....and when ur theory is good....u can even make ur own song and sounds.....:D

No regrets.

for your info....acoustic guitar juz not brown colour!!!

 

Acoustic guitar the strings are all metal. Generally the neck of the guitar is slightly thinner than a classical one (coz metal strings are thinner) Acoustics are great for strumming songs like...I'm yours by jason mraz....got the clean metal sound....nice

 

Classical guitar the 1st 2nd and 3rd strings (ie the bottom 3 strings) are nylon while the other 3 are metal....nice for plucking/picking songs such as hotel california by the eagles....

 

of coz there are 12 strings guitar, 7 strings guitar, 2 handed guitar, left handed guitar....

 

lets juz stick to acoustic and classical for now
