i dont think boss said a worker cant ride a S4 or a student cant ride a kup kia. but confirm cannot anyhow put flyers mah. if the kup kia singapore plate and looks presentable i did put the flyer hor. n i saw a s4 with this open side bag with tools and what nots, i didnt put the flyer. so no lor we are not discriminating....

Fyi, im not implying that students don't ride kups and that workers dun ride S4 or any of those.. Given the resources that we have printing brochures and after going through loads of carparks in NUS, it more prudent to not put on JB bikes and uncle2 lookalike bikes bcoz it will be wasting resources..

 

It's not as easy as you think man.. If we are sponsored free flyers, we will jolly well put on all bikes in NUS, but unfortunately, we're not. All these are coming out of our own pockets and suran/wadi have kindly volunteered their time to put flyers on the campus bikes.

 

So please be mindful of their efforts yeah?

Btw, don't worry about not being able to distinguish. I thought your flyer was a "summon" from some sort of NUS traffic authority so i was glad I didn't get it at first. A closer look and I found the club that I've been wanting to join before I even had a bike. Yeap.

 

Intro about myself. My full name is Ferrino but u can call me Eno. I'm a computer engineering freshman. Living in Tampines. Now, plotting my route and TIMINGs to evade all the damn ERP in the morning. (mind u, on my first day, i walk through 3 ERPs in the morning)

Hey thats great! Please do join us for outings n stuffs.. We're here to connect bikers around the campus.. Btw, zazzi is also commuting to n fro from simei everyday.. So u might wanna ask him on the ERP timings..

 

Unfortunately, we dun have a clubroom in campus.. (unless sumone wants to volunteer their hall/residence)..hehe.. We're more of an interest group/activity group, so we're not official beneficiaries of clubrooms, unlike bigger clubs..

harlow ferrino...yessah!!! another eastern rider...welcome, welcome!!..haha...

 

i stay at simei...used to ride rxz too..man, i love that bike..can reach 130 w/o much problem..haha..but dont speed k..ride safe...

 

my classes are usually in the afternoon or evening..basically from tampines there are a few ways u can go to nus..

 

1. PIE - KPE - ECP - AYE

2. PIE - KPE - ECP - Exit Telok Blangah all the way straight, then turn right to NUS ( this one u use if AYE jam)

3. PIE - CTE - AYE (usually i take this route but cons, u may pass by 3 ERPs during peak period)

4. ECP - AYE (u only pass by one ERP during peak period at ECP)

5. ECP - AYE - Telok Blangah exit

6. PIE all the way exit Clementi (u will either pass 1 or 2 ERP depending on the time during peak period)

 

and a few other combi...

 

 

u want best timing, go for route 3...can reach from simei to NUS in 25 minutes..but usually i take 30-35mins..

but the best timing part is subjective lah..some pple prefer KPE routes...

Also depends where you stay. The general rule is hit expressway as soon as you can from your place. Guaranteed as one of the faster routes. No traffic lights no nothing.

 

Personally I commute from Pasir Ris, Entering the TPE towards Changi Airport at Loyang Avenue/Tampines Avenue 7 on-ramp. Then ECP all the way to Keppel Viaduct, exit at Vivo exit then to Telok Blangah Viaduct, then West Coast Highway. Lastly turn into Clementi Road, then FASS.

 

Its a bit less direct, maybe a km or two more than the PIE routes but not much traffic from Telok Blangah onwards. The less competing vehicles the better. And you get nice long stretches of open road if you happen to be in a hurry.

 

And only 1 ERP on the ECP eitherway.

i tink the knee stickin out is a position to balance and steady themselves n the bike while turning.. prolly related to centrifugal forces n CG? hahaha.. =p
