Ok, so heres' the list of transport and leisure bike that u guys voted...

Eno: Wave and ????

Xianyu: Wave and 1098

Ash: Wave and K5

Khalis: Wave and Haya

Shihong: Sp and Africa Twin/ Vara1k/ GS1200

Woah, looks like the wave list is like a common transport bike tt u all recommend...

any1 knows how much is a 2nd hand wave price range???

One bike at a time for me. Am not into polygamy :D. If i had a really nice bike i would like to ride it everyday...not let it sit around while i commute on something else.

In Soviet Russia, motorcycle rides you!

Depends on ur situation. If you're working and the place is far, u might as well get a wave to handle the stress/wear and tear commuting far.

Since I'm schooling, must look good. Haha. Bring in the best bike I have.

Past: RXZ, KR, R1 07

Present : Wave S

okie seriously my current plan is keep my sp for transport, den get a huge adventure bike for leisure touring etc. africa twin, vara 1k, gs1200 all will do haha

go for Vara or GS if u can afford it...

they are very stable up to 180-200km/hr

hayabusa will get u tired easily basically from bending posture

invest in vara or GS

wah hafi.... just got ur s4 and talking abt transport bike and leisure bike eh...

btw... here are my choices if i were ever to get 2 bikes:

if money were no issues:

a night-train for transport

a fatboy/roadking for style

a haya for need for speed

becos money is always THE issue:

a shadow for transport

a cl2 jap model cruiser / harley for leisure

nope, thats germaine not geraldine...its like xingyu and xianyu...

thats true man.. but u wont be dumping cash.. u'll be looking good.. hahaha..

and feeling tired...and getting caught for speeding...

true wat eno said...but as always, there are 2 school of thought..

Argument for getting 2 bikes (transport bike and leisure bike)

1. travel to work in spore during peak period, jam, start stop start stop, big bike overheat easily, get small bike for transport

2. as a backup interim bike while big bike send for maintenance, etc

3. big bikes not convenient when u wanna go market, got loads of stuff so if got transport bike put big box easy...

4. might be economical in total cost when getting 2 bikes..in terms of petrol consumption, wear and tear reduction of big bikes

Arguments for only using one BIG/DREAM bike

1. u paid a lot for it, so might as well use it

2. pay for two insurance, road tax, car park, etc etc

3. may neglect the other bike if underutilise

wah hafi.... just got ur s4 and talking abt transport bike and leisure bike eh...

haha, im considering only..cos i might have to pass by CTE to work during peak period, and riding a s4 in a jam road is no fun...

but night riding with no traffic, and riding at TPE wif the s4 is super shiooookkk:cheeky:

I dunno about you guys, but every time i take my bike out to go to school or elsewhere I really enjoy riding my bike. Anyway IMHO, normal commuting is fine in terms of wear and tear, tires age and engine oil needs changing regardless of whether you run the full change intervals or not. Your full fuel of tank will start to gum up the injectors/carbs if it sits too long and the fuel also becomes stale. Insurance, and road tax still count against you when the bike just sits there and does nothing. A well-oiled and regularly run engine is happier than a sporadically run weekend warrior.

Maybe I have a thing for workhorses. Heh.

......unless you happen to do dispatch on the side then that's another story altogether....

Five miles was all it took for MCN's road testers to agree the new 2010 Kawasaki Versys is fun to ride.

not fair! The Versys was the only one without luggage!

hope to see more Versys around mah. the review is weirdly on the "fun" factor. Think not too much that set the bikes apart from normal day-to-day on the road functionality.

thats true.. plus on top of that tires are meant to last for a certain number of heat cycles and years.. so why not burn rubber than letting the rubber go stale and harden.. but lastly i think depends on ur usage too.. u never know.. the fc + maintainence of the big bike might actually make it worthwhile to get a transport bike instead.. i juz know that if u're getting a ktm.. most of the time u need a transport bike.. my fren's ktm every ride change eo.. cos only used for track.. and he tried commuting with it but maintainence was way too high for commuting purposes..

hahahahahaha.. I have no trouble getting past jams with the handling of this bike.. my only consideration to ever get a smaller sub-bike is

1) the petrol is a wallet killer

2) the heat is a sperm killer

Unfortunately, my job requires me to be abit mobile.. so i'll see for a few month, hows the maintenance like before considering another bike... its true wad shafi say about having a neglected + added cost of another bike.. Only time will tell..
