hye guys,

wanna ask u guys for comments.

 

i am in chemistry line.Recently i went for an interview with PSA after submitting ard 30++ resume in hope to get a job before i grad.

 

 

PSA actually called me up and offered me anot her job with has almost nothing to do with my line.However the pay is quite okie for this period of time.As for how much,i wont say it out here coz it might be a senstitive issue.I told them to give me some time to think about this.Anyway,they arrange a medical checkup appt for me so that i can join them anytime after my exams.

 

according to the HR manager,she says i can take perharps two weeks for a holiday before i start work.so i just its not a matter of timing..

 

to me,my concerns are if i join this company(which offers me quite good conditions), i might have a problem when i have to go for interview in another company(perharps chemistry line) in future.....however on the other hand,im worried that if i reject this offer,i might not find another job in the near future...i have been real stress recently over this matter.... :giddy:

 

i also understand that i should go for something i really like to do so that i enjoy my work and won't have much troubles in future.

Me on attachment now, so quite out of touch...

didnt expect this kind of tinks to happen in a sch.. lucky i see this if not might turn out to be a victim.

BTW muz put coupon in NUS or not huh? or cashcard in the case of shltered carparks?

no need.. jus park at those designated lots for bikes and u are safe....

and dun anyhow park by the pavement...

i personally say .. go for every the checkup and stuffs..

but dun sign anything yet.. meanwhile, check out other companies

 

but since during this difficult time.. having a job is good, 3/4 of pple not doing what they major in ... so maybe jus go in for th experience first.. ?

my advise is go into something that interest u. if u interested in chem stuff, go back to where ur interest lies.. i'm sure there's plenty of jobs out there. currently i'm jobless too. also very worried abt geting a job tat i like.

 

i dun wan to go into something that i dun like. some of my seniors,advise me tat the 1st job u get after u grad is gonna determined wat u gonna do 4 the rest of ur life... tats y i'm not rushing into things too.. for your info, i started sending resumes in mid feb.. registered with jobstreet a yr back and have been receiving news abt the market trends..

 

all my army buddies that i asked abtr the economic now. everyone is saying the job market looks good.. and i trust them..

 

but if it all comes down to $$$. can always go part time.. kfc/pizza hut/ canadian is always looking 4 part timers.. and i certainly will go back as delivery rider as a part time job if i really can't get a job.. and while working as riders, still can hunt ard 4 jobs mah...

 

anyway the PSA thing sounds interesting lor.. personally i think there is 2 reasons y they willing to wait 4 u.

 

1) the job sucks and nobody wan to do it

2) the company is expanding and they are recruiting new staff..

 

ehh.. hope my 'advice' is not too lengthy.. me facing the same problem too.. i wan to get back to my manufacturing line, but all companies say they wan manufacturing/ electronic degree.. to them, science is all abt chemistry n physics..

i tot every online job agency .. jus send resume only rite?

jobstreet frm wat i know is something like a advertisment board. meaning the company will post the vacancy in jobstreet, we the applicants will receive a notice if got match. no middle man. no middleman = no comission. u dun need to authenticate the resume lar. jus be careful when u agree to let all employers see ur resume. end up those financial planners will call u up n ask u to join the company..

 

if possible, dun go those manpower agency. they will jus suck ur salary every month.. eg, the company may pay the agency $2.6k a month to get a guy to work at this job, but the agency will jus pay u $2k a mth.. like tat u lugi $600.. and its not a 1 time payment. its for as long as u work at that company. heard this frm a fren. dunno if true anot..

yup .. 100% true ... they earn alot, .. u get ur salary from the agency, not the company u work for... but with agency's help, easier to find job

they will tell u to attend some seminar... then, some are MLM and others are financial planner... not that these are not good, but may not be what we are looking for as they never tell u anything beforehand
