Hi k0kster,

Not to worry about this question if you're not able to get help here.

I can tell you more details about it on next outing okie.

I have a M400 for about 2 years and sold here to CMYR.

Cheers!

when i was a ducati newbie,i learn really fast that it is important to service the bike religiously....5k interval is very important.10k service will be equally important too.

ppl tend skip this service invervals due to the cost and problems will surface and will cost more to rectify.

my advice

if u really gianz for a duke?get the class 2 models.

btw them the class 2a will just be eye candy.nothing more i previously own ed m400 b4 switched to m900 3 month later.

as for services they'll cost the same...most of the parts can be shared between them not all but most.then at this point ppl then not to bother with maintaining it...just a transition stage.

so potential owners need to understand this.power or looks.

once u get the ducati bug...you'll then want more.m400 will give half way.

super4 will eat you alive.

i feel tht e m400 is more than enough for sg roads. top spd of abt 170-180...more for a FI model.... enough torque for great pick up. it's equivalent to a super4. consumption is quite gd too. yr comment makes it sound like every super4 rider should instead get a cb1000... i'm juz commenting. no arrows. =)... there's a reason y the super4's r more popular compared to cb1000. same scenario for m400 and m900... insurance and etc makes e m400 a more popular choice.

True ... if got class 2 go for the bigger monsters. More shiok plus trademark unique dry clutch noise!

Gd advice lah....got cl2 n an affordable duke (695) all seems e more attractive than a M400 (4 my case).:) Btw, coolcat, i like ur signature phrase thou:thumb:

My signature quote actually came from an ex-M900 rider friend of mine, who put 4 years and much $$$ on a M900 when he was quite poor. Told me that that was the worst and best times he had on 2 wheels .... keke .. now he is a dirt rider and enjoyed it so much.

Moral of the story; riding at its most basic is a transport, can be a hobby or a passion, but don't break the bank or neglect your loved ones doing so!

My advice, buy new only if you keeping the bike, otherwise get a second hand one, better value and lower risk. Pm if you think i can help in anyway.

Cheers

True, the M400 is good enuff for Singapore roads. But I think when riding passionate bikes like Ducati bikes, apart from the flash element you want some presence and power, and one of the Monsters' trademark is torque, loads of it, and having tried both M900 and owned a M400, there is really no comparison. As for people who want to go top-end fast on Italian bikes, I always say, get a R6 or R1, they will do the job better, and cheaper. But you will compromise on the passion and head-turning elements.

Juz my 2 cents' worth.

Cheers

yea, i guess u're correct. nv had or even rode a m900 but i wouldn't b surprised abt e torque thingy.more than twice e capacity. in any case, as long as u love wad u do, dont bother abt e hearsays. it juz limits yr own pursuit for any passion :)

BTW, my fren's Frankenmonster is for sale. A Ducati M900 project with a 916 single swingarm and high mounts; can't remember what other stuff there. My fren is a real bike nut and hands on guy, good stuff he did.

My fren has another bike and bought another ride, hence selling. It was featured on ducatimonster.org ... you can view the bike at Mike Chong's.

true.enough for sg roads.dont make the mistake that s4 is compatible to m400 in the performance dept.i onced trash m400 wif my gs400 and was trash by s4 when i had my m400.

when buying consider this

2a for life? if not when get class 2.u will be itching

performer/poser? s4 performs

hand on/hands off? dukes need a lot of attentions technically

budget/loaded duke is no budget bike.cheap ones burns pocket later.

dukes for life!

Tried searching for his ad, but I think he pulled them off. Suggest you see Mike Chong, and ask about a 900 Monster with a single swingarm. He'll know which one, after all, only one in Singapore.
