cannot buy. i was at nokia centre at wheelock last mon. someone was repairing the sliders.

 

 

den yest i went back there to collect my hp, again another person was repairing the sliders. kena stuck or something. cannot slide. need to use 2 hands to slide up the other direction. sliding down still ok.

Seriously i think there are always some that due to manufacturing there are some defects for a few in the group.

My phone is sliding well for me at time moment.

 

I believe bikes are also like that. Anyway seriously other then it has a 5mega pix camera and gps nothing special.

 

Tried the camera. Not Bad

Tried the gps with Maps while driving, it gives directions but of course not the shortest way that you might know.

 

Basically i will give a 7/10 for this phone because used to use a dopod.

Pros and Cons.

 

With this N95 i cannot text message reply all so have to rekey in all receipients that i wanna send and at time i need to send like 5 time per day to 20 persons for 1 same text message .

 

Overall: Still not bad for a phone. Cheers!

I've been using one since the prototype. Here's a link to a thread I posted on another forum. If you read through the thread, you can see pics and videos taken with the N95, put side by side with other Nokia phones to compare.

Unless you really really need Windows, I suggest you skip Windows devices. Thety're well-known to be unstable.

Not entirely true.

 

There are 2 map applications that come with NON-PARALLEL-IMPORTED N95 sets in S'pore. Means the ones that you buy from Singtel/Starhub/M1...etc.

 

1) "Nokia Maps" - this application needs 3G to download maps onto your phone if you haven't already downloaded it via your PC. Say you're in Zimbawbwe and is lost, the phone will auomatically connect via the network and download the area map based on your base station location.

 

2) "Asia Maps" - this application has S'pore and M'sia maps preloaded. No network connection is required as the complete maps are already inside. However, you're only able to navigate with whatever maps are preloaded. This application runs on Agis maps and they are very comprehensive. Most countries in Asia are well-covered in terms of maps. Downside is the map rendering is not very legible.

 

So make sure you buy it from official channels. Otherwise you will miss out on the "Asia Maps" application, which is crucial in the local context. Without this application, you might as well not buy an N95, cos you probably won't even turn on the GPS.

Just got mine at 498 after trading in my N73 for $300

and recontracted with my $10 plan at M1.

Overall a good phone, just that i feel that the slide is not very well built.

Battery life is quite jialat, definitely need a second batt.

 

And mine did not come with the leather pouch..

Those selling at nokia damn ugly..
