Frankly speaking that valve is there for a good reason if you intend to ride is at low RPM regularly. More control in Low end power delivery and torque. So call Racing Full system is thru without the valve is because in a race you won't need the low RPM and that much and by removing the valves you loss some weight too. If you didn't get the same feeling after you change your exhust system (Mid-Pipe onwards or full) don't blame the bike or the exhust or the tuner.

My 2 cents worth

well... its there for good.. but it is gettting faulty very easily to be frank...

for fuel consumption i had tested not really much of a diff...

and also.. my personal feel is disable it make it much more ridable at low rpm..

juz dun have the sudden push at 8k (valve from not fully open and become fully open) dats all..

But the sudden surge of power is so fun, feels like riding a 2-stroke.

yup.. i agree is fun.. esp when u maintain near dat rpm and can get teh boost feel whenever u wan...

but i am not sure is mine faulty cos sometimes when i ride.. and rev.. it tends to choke and dun feel smooth so i had to stop by the road side to restart the bike.. killing the engine dun work.. have to reset the servo moto... so to save the trouble and to try the recommendation by mr vol.. i diy it.. haha..

so far so good... juz dat low end dun feel so much of a boost.. no feel of power boost.. but draggable =p

Yeap...you are right Ayuluv.

The bike will tend to ride smoother.

I had checked with the Kawi Service Factory Centre and also another one with the Expert mechanic (whom are trained by Kawi Japan regularly whenever a new product launch).

According to him, the stock exhaust is not a direct flow (which all of us are fully aware).

Therefore, the butterfly valve is needed for some back preasure kind of thing on stock exhaust.

That's why they have the subjected valve and the bike is "smooth" at lower RPM on stock exhaust.

But if we fit the slip on which is obviously a direct flow exhaust, the valve is no longer needed and infact (if still using the valve) this will create problem/heat/vibration and back presure probem if we still use the valve.

As such, the moment we fit slip on, the valve must be dis cable.

And he told me that the moment we fit the slip on, we already disturb the original fuel/air ratio. As such, we may not have the full HP as buitd in stock.

As such, he suggest to fit the BMC re-usable filter and also get a PC3 to dyno and remap the whole bike again to gain the extra HP/performance.

But then again, when I checked with the Kawi Service Centre, the guys told me that installing the slip on will just disturb the fuel/air ratio on a "negligible level" therefore not neccesary to remap the whole bike on a PC3 as long the filter are still stock (not reuse type).

According the them, we can detect the correct fuel/air ratio just be looking at the end of the exhaust.

If it is too dark black, then it is rich.

If it is too light brown, then it is lean.

If it is brown...then it is OK.

the butterfly valve issue i read it some where bt cant remember...

but den.. a full system can allow fully tune by dyno + pc3 there fore can fully tune for low end power and fuel consumption as well as mid range and top end..

butterfly valve mayb a cheaper and easier way to do dis for stock bikes..

:thumb: As for the kawa service center is it at Evershine? If it's Fat Soh you can forget what he say. He only knows how to eat and get fat. knows crap about bike.

Well as for the negligible level is always too big for me to like. I always suggest a full tuning or remaping with new pipes installed. you never know what that small difference will differs to.

Dammit i was afraid of that. I guess when i get my sharkskinz then.

Hi Bro,

Nope...it's not Evershine.

I got a second oppinion from Malaysia side. Just a second oppinion lor.

The malaysia side have the sole agent for Kawi bikes and there is one centre here where the mechanic/boss was always trained by Kawi Japan.

But anyway, getting the second oppinion from other sources plus some surfing in the net at times will give a better idea and sometimes...more confusing.:giddy:

By the way, I am queing on the second if the tonite buyer did not buy your suit. I already took the quee number already...no.2 and still standing.:cheeky:
