oh this i not very sure .........

dunno how to check...... the RVF wordings on the fairing is yellow.....

e part under e pillion seat is glossy black or matt black?? if i'm not wrong original one is sticker one matt black :sweat:

read this in a UK mag review of the RVF400 (yup! they have it there too).

it says that the two black plastic ram- air intakes leading to the tank is FAKE??!!

 

how true is that?? the mag went into the details of the bike and reported that the fake ram air intake is just to mimic the design style of the larger capacity RVF750. The "ram air" on the RVF400 channels 'uselessly' on top over the cylinder heads (not into the airbox at all), its not connected to anything.

 

an interesting 'fact' or fiction?

 

any RVF Gao Ren can verify this?

i have pics at the classified section...

I think putting the 2 air vent on top does suit some purpose. Same as ZXR400. unlike other bikes, located in front or on the side of fairing. Honda n other manufacturer dun out stuff on bike juz for fun.

 

One thing for sure, its does make the bike look nice. ;)

yea....but to what purpose? as the pic seems to illustrate the UK mag's point...the ram air is channeled uselessly over the top part of the engine...iz not goin to the airbox where the greatest benefit will be.

 

weird huh? maybe the air is to cool the engine?

If you follow the arrows, first one shows air going into scoops

 

Second arrow goes into compartment in front of tank

 

Third one shows air going into the airbox snorkel intake

 

and the fourth one goes through the air filter into the carbs ok?? ;)

 

Picture's from honda japan showing the function of the NASA ducts.

 

It is also drawing some hot air from the engine, but the race version has

 

a additional plate to route air. :D

 

Honda was trying to show the inprovements from the last version NC30

 

VFR400. You ever seen the inside of the stock exhaust??

 

Look at the picture. That's why originals feel so strangled in power!! :cry:

Actually you be surprise to see that most RVF riders in this forum are on original paintwork! Right Guys? :smile:

but it really make the front fairing 2 cramp coz my IU always kanna the air vent!

last time there was once when i try 2 open throttle the bike like reluctant to go! end up the problem is coz by a Permanent Resident i presume the same way the arrow is pointing from the diagram Rest In Peace on my $80 Air Filter!

the mechanic when open up the air filter was shock2 c a :angel: DEAD LIZARD lying flat across my air filter. how i wish can ask for some rental from the dead lizard.... $80 :deal:

 

juz a suggestion, mayb u all can try to block the 2 inlet air vent by putting something like small grill across it to prevent those PR!
