not all bikes run on 12V..

example RXK, is run on 6V onli..

one way to check is see yr IU unit, if there is a extra battery compartment beside the IU, means yr bike running on 6V. if not is on 12V..

if really 12V, yr batt is too weak..

if u measure when the bike is running, 14V is ok..

but if park overnite and measure the voltage of the batt wifout starting yr bike, look like is overcharging..

if yr bike need a 12V batt and u measure 6V now, the bike will not start..

if u wanna confirm whether batt or rect problem, u hav to charge the batt in order to start up yr bike.. then u try measure the voltage while the engine is running..

sometimes is the magnetic coil that spoilt giving u no charging..

yr batt should give u 13V at idle and 14V at higher RPM

how long u hav being using the batt??

LAB hav sell batt if u wanna DIY

but i suggest u bring yr bike to a reputable mech to hav it check..

not coil again... pls dun jump the gun by telling everyone that their coil is spoilt!!!

pls refer to this thread http://www.singaporebikes.com/forum/index....howtopic=161394

best to get it checked and not waste money on coil... ITS NOT CHEAP!!!

:cheeky:

this are two diff bike cases..

he hav already mentioned that he changed the batt and rect..

but still can't solve the problem..

and someone tell him is maybe coil problem.. i juz mention the characteristic of a spoilt coil..

i not telling everyone the coil is spoilt..

i juz mentioned coil may be the one which giving problem..

i even advice him on the checking of rect rather than the checking of coil..

if i straightaway think the coil is spoilt, i will advice him on checking of the coil..

juz find the coil connection for honda is a 3 yellow wires and perform some test..

yes i noe coil is not that cheap, that y i say is better to go to a reputable bike shop..
