easiest and cheapest way to clean it - just pour petrol into some small boxes, dig the air filter for an hour or sort of, let it dry and spray wd40 on the inner side and you're good to go :-)

petrol??

petrol will spoil the filter..

i've done it several times. still works :-)

but do notice, i'm not using the K&N, i'm using Posh Air Filter.

but i guess, don't really make a different. since K&N much higher quality than mine.

Rule thumb (for car or bike): Clean & re-oil your K&N filters at the same interval that your vehicle manual recommend replacement. If you ae more fastidious, every 6 months or 10,000km should be fine on Sg roads. Some inital dust on the filter is said to improve filtration, hence its better not to clean it too often.

& Oh four years ........ what are you waiting for?

also, during rainny weather, have to re-charge more often... cos the rain water will wash off the layer of oil use to trap the dust...

i dun tink its applicable for KNN bro. It might spoil the filter. Tats y they got their own recharger (cleaner) kit. Try not to wreck the filter which u bought which cost quite a bit due to negligence bro.

What I usually do is buy 2 filters, so when one is dirty I can change it out immediately and then take my time cleaning the dirty one. I allow the filter to dry over a few days before "recharging" it. After drying and recharging I keep it in a zip lock bag so I can change it out whenever I feel it needs to be changed.

I do this because sometimes after washing it and waiting for it to dry, something comes up and I have to leave, I don't want to run around with out an air filter.
