Hi there,

I am planning to DIY the hazard lights and i would like to ask a few question

1) Since you need to group the wires in A and B and we need to connect 2 wires to the both contact points of the relay and the wire from the bundle. I was wondering if i could just connect both the relay contacts with one wire and draw a long wire from it. It would be so much convient.

2) I was wondering which group to connect to which point of the switch. e.g the off terminal connect to which group A or B.

Hope the bros out there who DIY could help me

Thanks in advance.

The purpose of using a 4-pole switch is the isolate the left and right circuit else when u try to on your signal all 4 will blink, Depending on the switch you buy you will determind which pole is pair up as a circuit.

A normal 4 pole should be like

A B

Thanks for the input bro,

And, i was also wondering since we need to connect the 2 wires from the relay contact and the 2 wires from the bundle together why not we just use one wire connecting both the contacts from the relay and another wire to connect the contacts from the 2 wires from the bundle. And, it will be easier to connect and i think it would work too. Not too sure about this hope someone could enlighten me.

Thanks in advance

Dont quite understand your question u might wanna ask someone to show u a demo or do some try and error during your DIY as it will not do any harm to the bike just that the blinking mode will be diff.

haha, i am sorry bro if u cannot understand.

I will explain in a more clearer way.

now u have 4 wires. the 2 wires from the 2 sockets and two wires from the relay.

tape them im group A and B.

group A.. both wires from the two sockets

group B.. wires from relay

Since both the wires from the 2 sockets and the relay are of the same connection, i was wondering if i could just connect both the contact points of the relay together using a wire and then connect a long wire from any one of the contact points. And, for the wires from the bundle, just connect both the wires together and connect a long wire out for the connection in the switches. I feel that the connection will still be the same and easier to connect to the switches as you are just using 2 wires for the switches.

Thanks.

Nope you cannot do that cos you are still creating a close circuit and it will still affect your signal light, gib it a try you will understand wat i mean.

Really ah bro,

In that case i will just follow the guidelines given by pryo 13.

If i were to trial and error about the connection on the switches wont be a problem right.

And, the connection on the switch will be group A connected to two pins on the switch and group B connected to another two pins on the switch.

But since you have already identified the four cables, just soldered them to a DPST switch, and you have harzard light on your bike ?

hi guys,

I tried to do the hazard light but when i open up the head and the front fairing i was very blur because there were too many wires. And, i took out the condenser and replaced it wit the blinker relay and noticed that the signal light look a longer time to blink then using the normal condensor.

And, i do not know where to find the two bundle which contain the wires where u need to tap out long wires.

And, i am not sure if i need to connect the blinker relay to the socket wherr the condensor was initially connected.

And, must i connect 2 wires from the relay contacts and connect to the switch and then get 2 other wires connected from the wires from the bundle to the switch too.

And, i cannot see any bundles in my bike.

I will really appreciate if u guys can explain this in a clearer way.

I tried to do it and ended up blowing up the fuse of my bike.

feel very disappointed

Thanks in advance.

The 2 bundle of wires is where u plug out with u remove you head(where the signal light is located) then the signal light look a longer time to blink might be due to wrong condenser used.

So u mean the two bundle where u need to tap wire is the 2 socket where u unplug the front fairing from right. How do u tap wire from there. Cut the wire abit and connect the wire to the exposed part is it. And i dono if the relay i am using is the blinker relay. I bought it from LAB for 4 dollars and it cost 4 bucks, its round in shape too. And, it is said that i have to replace the stock condenser with the relay so, does it mean i need to connect the relay to the 2 metal pins where the stock condenser was previously connected. And, where to get fuse for spark 135. I blowed mine and am planning to get a spare one.

Thanks in advance.

haha.. i'm using the method that mudd had said.

when i need to use my harzard lights,i have to activate my switch first follow by either signal to left or right..all 4 signal will start to blink.. if i wan to deactivate i just switch off the signal however i need to switch off my switch too to get back to the orginal function of signal..

this method is the most simplest.. however it can be quite troublesome.. anyway i seldom use it so i don actually really mind...

good luck guys in your DIY...:cheeky:

Great job and thanks for sharing...

Just wondering in theory, if we turn our signal switch to the right, the right signal lights would flicker and vice versa on the left.

What if we add a switch such that it is connected to both the left and right signal wire and when we switch it on, both will flicker without adding any additional relay?

Is that possible? Just enquiring ya bros.. hehe.

i tried tis method w/o installing relay juz by pulling 3wires each from the orginal Left, Right signal switch and ground to a new switch but when turn on u onli hear continuous tick tick tick sound from the relay.. i guess might need to change the relay/condensor which can tahan harard light and more bulb ba~... :)
