anyone having a rattling sound when you slowly releasing your clutch? roughly below 5k rpm i start to hear some rattling sounds. seems like my clutch or gears dont go in smoothly. or is it my chain? i realise after having this problem my chain keeps getting loose very often. any idea what might be wrong? there was once my friend went to adjust my clutch cable, but i brought back to the workshop to tighten it and adjust back to normal, but that only solved a fair bit of the problem. normally the symptom happens when downshifting at rpm below 5k. it doesnt engage smoothly.. seems like something bouncing back the clutch(?). im super new to bikes so i really need help. i am currently riding a 2013 CBR150r FI

Try check the front of your swingarm.

Mine was cos of the rubber plates on the

Swing arm being worn off.

See chain side of bike, at the swing arm pivot

(Near front sprocket)

On the swing arm should have some kind of

Rubber plate

i realize that when this rattling happens my chain is usually loosen, when the mechanic tightens it back, it wont have this problem. however, a next thing is that my chain gets loosen around 300km+ or so. is that too soon? im using a stock non-o ring chain, would a O-ring chain be better for my problem? that is what the mechanic suggested.

and recently my radiator's fan did not turn on, and the mehanic said they have to check it out, and if the switch spoils, might have to change a new one which would cost me 60+. is that ex? damn feels like i bought a wrong bike. its brand new some more! now i have to change new coolant and radiator fan switch, while changing new chain and maybe a sprocket. that was cost me a bomb man.

does anyone have any idea regarding the rattling?

to captain_des, i cant see the front of my swingarm i think, since i have fairing covering it?

or do you have a picture illustration of where the front of the swingarm is at?

o-ring chain should last longer PROVIDED proper maintenance is done. buy expensive chain but never take care also no point.

i suspect ur rattling is due to chain being too loose. and make sure when its tightened, all the adjustment nuts are tightened properly. maybe they never tighten enough and over time, it loosens and the chain becomes slack again.

as for the radiator fan switch, shouldn't your bike still be under warranty? go back to the shop u bought it from and demand they check the bike and bear the cost of the repair if there is a need.

yup, solved the radiator fan, its just the fan being clogged with dirt due to underuse, apparently they say the engine not hot enough for the fan to on, but whatever they solved it. for my chain, i just changed to O-ring chain, works better, and a recommendation form a friend is due to me always having a pillion behind, it loosens the chain much faster, which is one of the cause, so im wondering if there are chain tensioners or supporters for sports bike. anyone knows?

Since u always pillion, u can leave ur chain to be more slack. The more amount of movement of ur suspension when under load will stretch ur chain more if its tight. And make sure u keep up with the maintenance.

your chain needs to be replaced...sound comes from loose chain

the fact that after retensioning the chain needs retensioning after a few rides ..its gone.

check for chain wear:

pull chain at rear sprocket...away from the rear wheel shaft ...perpendicularly.

a good chain there sholndt be any slack..

if there is movement detected during the pulling process...check the movement displacement...

up to 3 mm...retension..more than that the bike perfomance will be affected.

more than 5mm need a replacement immediately..or else chain breakage can occur.

do that ..
