Chain prob :(

hi, riding cbr400.. new problem arise after a 2 hour long ride (got lost along pungol to sembawang area just now).

 

Chain now have a chin chin(abit like birds chipping) sound whenever I let it move on free wheeling or push it.

Gone if I rev abit.. tried lube it hard. spam lots of chain lube on it.. no use, the sound still there.. any help? or my chain gone case now? still can ride my bike? slowly ride, will it be an issue? must hold on till the next saturday when i might be free

Check tension. Might be too slack

if its toooo loose, u ride 100m only and if ur chain derail, u're gonna have to probably change alot more than just the chain.

at its mid point, rough figure of slack should be a total movement of about ...say... 2inch? any more u probably shudnt ride it until u got it tightened.

Ride to a workshop to diagnose your problem before it get worst. Ride safe!

u could check ur brake calipers..the bolts holding it loose or one missing perhaps?..or ur brake pads worn out n metal rubbing against ur brake disc?
