new topic... haha...

btw.. just checking if anyone knows the answer to my question...

since spark 135 is liquid cooled, does the water pump work all the time pumping coolant around cooling machines

OR does it...

pump the coolant around to cool the engine when its overheated?

cos my thermostat is disabled and radiator fan is switched on manually...

any body with that knowledge?

erm, from wat i nknow, the thermostat is the thermometer tat check the temp..

the coolant will always be warmed..but wen its too warm, then the fan comes in.

like ur first option. its pumped all the way.. but wen it gets too hot, the thermostat takes the temp and then ons the fan..

how abt DIYing a thermometer??

I think it works like the car cooling system. The pump will always pump the coolant around the water jacket of the engine. The timing of the fan turn on depends on the temperature of the coolant which is activated by the thermostat. The thermostat is temperature sensing switch. When the thermostat sensor reach a certain temperature, it will turn on the fan.

If the thermostat is disable, you will have to run the fan full time. That means on rainy days the fan will still be on. That may consume a lot of battey power.

alright.. sounds like all agree that its the first option of water pump always on... which now that i read back my post, it sounds stupid to ask.. lol..

btw. the switch to toggle the fan motor relay is already in other forums..... SHOULD NOT drain battery as much...

anyway, having plans to either... replace the stock fan or add another fan to the bike... just for the fun and experience...
