Progressive Front Springs

Recommended Posts

Hello Viffers,

From my readings, I found out the stock VFR springs were already progressive springs fitted at the front forks. Anyone can affirm my findings on this?

Coz if it was already fitted with progressive springs stock, I would drop the idea of installing Hyper Pro progressive springs :)

I've got the Hyperpro progressive...and I don't think they work better than the stock ones... :slapforehead:

if tats the case, I rather not have the hyperpro. It means the hyperpro is as gd as stock then..haha

According to VFRD, the stock 6th Gen fork springs are dual-rate with two distinct sections (whereas progressive springs are basically infinite-rate). The stock springs (both front and rear) are just nice for a lightweight rider (60kg thereabouts) and hopelessly soft for pillion riding.

Has anyone swapped the fork or shock with a suitable replacement from another bike? I know the Blackbird shock fits the 6th Gen without modification, but it provides very little improvement (slightly harder spring and marginally longer shock length to raise the ride height). People in the US seem to be using rebuilt CBR F3/F4/F4i units to great success. Has anyone done such a mod?
