The L shape screw driver get from Motion Pro, anyway if you are riding non vtec superfour no need to get the tool.

Just turn the air screw all the way in, until it sit lightly then turn it out to 2 and 3/4 turns will do. I adjust mine this way according to manual, and the bike idle smoothly. When blip throttle at idle the tacho needle rise and fall to the idle speed not below or above, and respond much better than before.

Btw turning out the air screw will lean out the mixture. as more air is intake to the pilot circuitry.

I did a carb syn as well, it was slightly off, now bike is running good.

question: what's tuning? or more accurately, what do u understand by tuning the carb?

well... the carb cannot be "tune" in the real sense of the word. the function of the carb is to mix air/fuel into a desirable mixture and this mixture is feeded to the engine. u can make changes to some settings pertaining to air/fuel to change this mixture. reason why mechanic rev rev... well... it does look pro o_O u only hope they know what they r doing. actually u can hear from the feedback if the mixture is way off, but to be accurate/precise, human ear can't do it.

couple of things u can "tune" in a carb, the air intake and balancing. for balancing the carbs, there's this device that mechanic uses (i dunno what's the name). it's either electronic or some analog device where u can read off.

air intake is kinda agaration. what mechanic can do is reset everything back to zero (close position), then turn 1 rd, turn 2 rds, until the desired number of rds for all carbs (should be equal thru out the individual carbs). a little experience with the machine he is working on helps (i believe the service manual suggests some value for the number of rds). there's also machine that can measure the air/fuel ratio but i doubt anyone in sg has it.

finally, if u r a control freak and needs to be accurate in tuning the bike (or u jus want to know :p ), u need to run some sort of test like dyno. to tell how's the bike performing.

The air-fuel mixture machine is almost similar to the one used by LTA. It measures the amount of hydrocarbons coming out of your exhaust, and this tells whether your machine is running lean or rich. This is best done together with the carb syncro gages.

About the air-fuel-mixture-machine; true not many ppl have it in Singapore and other than a dyno machine, this is the next best thing (I think).

My mech Rosli, happens to owns one, and so far, it never failed. Heck, it even prints a 'receipt' for you so the next time you come, you just present the 'receipt', and he will tune it to the same level. A few of the super 4 group riders as well as most of the Kruzers do go there to service. For me, well, he's the only mech i go to.

Is this the guy who attached a switch to the HISS system stating that by switching it off during riding, the power cut will be removed?
