i went there today he told me that i must saw off a part of the carb to tune..

y???

becoz u need a special tool to tune the carb. if they dun have it, they can saw a slot so a conventional screwdriver can be used to tune the carb. and it's not one part of the carb, it's the screw they are sawing. no worries. most places dun have the tool, so many ppl one kena screwed with and without their knowledge

How do you know your carbs are really dirty and need washing? If after tuning, the bike feels smooth and power delivery improves, why go through the trouble to open and wash? More problems may crop up when the carbs are often opened and tinkered with.

Motordiam need to make maximum profit, of course they will advise everyone to wash and tune your carbs. But the fact is that you dont need to open your carbs unless there is no improvement after tuning. Think about it.

someone told me that can don wash it, but tune it. Cos the carbs won't get dirty easily and it's better not to disturb the fittings when it comes from the factory.

the reason why we go to mechanics and they don just do tuning, but washing of carbs also is because they can't make money from tuning alone.

Can anyone verify that? cos i am not too sure about it too...
