Sorry for being a noob. How to clean the chain? As in... which part of the chain? Is there a special solution to clean the chain?

And... how often must I clean the chain on my bike?

Biking is something that everyone can learn and enjoy! :goodluck:

well you could use degreaser or wd 40 to spray on it. Then use rags or unwanted cloths to wipe. Later on put chain lube for chain. You can clean the whole chain ? up to u

I cleaned my chain using Kerosene (best and cheap). Brushed the kerosene using an unwanted toothbrush and then wiped it off using unwanted rag. I even rinse it with water and dry it after that. When I am done with the cleaning, I then rode my bike ard to warmth up the chain then after I will apply chain lube.

I cleaned my chain using diesel. jack up ur bike and allow ur back wheel to rotate, using the brush & diesel to clean ur chain until all u can see the orginal colour of ur chain, den use a unwanted rag to wipe until ur chain shines. I also rinise it with clean water and dry it with a rag, allow ur chain to warm up ( start ur engine, engage to gear 1 allow the wheel to move but don't open the throttle, this will help to remove some unwanted water ) lastly wash ur bike first because ur rim will be dirty when u are washing ur chain. last but nt least i used chain wax. To use it Preheat ur chain with a 5 mins ride, jack up ur bike if u are using side stand only orelse u can place ur bike with main stand so that the wheel can rotate freely. Rotate the wheel and spray chain wax liberally onto chain and avoid over saturation. IMPORTANT : allow spray to 'set up' for 10-15mins.

be careful when using WD40 or degreaser..

some degreaser will damage yr oil seal for O-rings or X-rings chains..

something you might want to use:

kettenmax chain cleaner

mods done:

powerplant device, fuel injector venturis,

underseat cylindrical air filter, bassy stock cans,

super-sensitive in-built gyroscope, inertia-based accelerometer,

streamlined panniers (zero drag),

taped up wires, exposed grounding wires,

TBC mounted, custom tire pressures.

litre bikes watch out! :gun:
