N6110 navigator with GPS

i saw a N6110 navigator with GPS..

anyone with this fone?

care to share a short review?

 

seems like an cheaper alternative to the n95 without wifi n 5mp cam..

bought 2 days ago. good phone. GPS solid! used on bike to try navigate around for fun. they can calculate the shortest n fastest way to ur destination. doesnt draw network charges. its free all the way. even shows ur speed.

the gps is very good... but map not that updated... is using 06Q3 map...

i think the gps like to ask ppl go small road... that time i at balestier, got expressway can go but gps ask me go small road... maybe should be because of shorter route lar...

i think its downloaded ** to KL. i got i bagster tank bag to mount on tank bra then i just slot the phone under the top transparent cover lor.

AGPS is something like using the GPRS network for more accurate reading. the phone will prompt u the first time u start. other than tat wat they provide inside is ample enough.

Can i assume that other than downloading the map and using the AGPS function, the usage for the GPS is free? There are other ways to download maps into the phone rite? Sorry for the noob questions as my knowledge with GPS is limited =D

if im not wrong download the map is free ...BUT subcribing it for U Pdates is not .. yes GPS is totally free ....AGPS is not ...

erm.. totally no need to dl the map at all.. when you buy the phone already dl-ed inside... so just by a push of a button can use already...

about the gps and agps...

gps is FREE... you can even use it without your sim card...

agps is NOT FREE... you need to connect to gprs and get your current location and navigation...

 

Pros and Cons...

 

GPS will take a longer time to detect the satellite to find your current locations... but if you start your GPS at the last position u went, it will be quite fast...

 

for AGPS, they make use of GPRS and detect your current location.. so u need to pay for GPRS charges... just as simple as that...

 

bad thing is the map is using Route66 map... it's only **dated to 06Q3...

and you cannot search by postal code... the best they can do is bring u to the road name... so if u searching for HDB block, u need to find yourself...

can those currently using this phone do a review with regards to its GPS function ? e.g accuracy , voice guide , ability to stay locked on even going thru tunnels etc

top right corner will show u distance to run b4 the next turn or filter. bottom left will show ur speed in km/h. around 300-450m b4 turning or filtering the voice will tell u so. if u overshot or miss the turn it will automatically calculate the next fastest route to ur destination. so if u don follow or overshot the gps will auto calculate another route for u.
