what i mean if lets say the route they give is frequently jammed and we want to DIY a route is it possible ? cause some times want to go to point A to B ,... on map know how to go but cant remember when to turn

just ignore when it ask u to turn or filter then it will auto come out wit another route.

If i'm not wrong, i think gps has a feature which allows the user to set way-points. Is there such a feature on the 6110?

after that, a mth license is $15. same as N95 and E90 communicator

Catch is, if you want to use it for real-time GPS tracking, you'll need to pay a fee. Prices may vary depending on where you purchase the maps, but a seven-day license for the Singapore map (which also comes with the Bangkok and Kuala Lumpur cities) will cost S$12. Pay an additional S$3 and you can extend the license coverage to 30 days. A one-year and three-year fee cost S$119.49 and S$139.41, respectively. All local prices mentioned here are inclusive of GST. There's another catch to Nokia Maps (and also Asia Maps). According to the Finnish company, the license fee is linked to your phone's IMEI, so you won't be able to enjoy the maps you bought should you decide to switch to another GPS-enabled mobile.

GPS service is free. u are only paying to use the nokia software. knowing your co-ordinates on this planet is useless if u do not have a map to support your data

the hp is preloaded with maps of sgp + kl rite?

so, if we satisifed with using these 2 location maps. there will be not be additional charges even after 31august.

 

does real-time GPS tracking = Assisted GPS?

ok so the GPS we get from this 6110 is FOC but the catch is we've to pay money for using the nokia provided maps after 31aug. Which will be the hidden cost aye. hmm thanks for providing this info bro was eyeing this hp to replace my sony ericsson

no one is stopping you from downloading maps from third party sources.

 

by the way. STM giving away free car kit for every purchase of N6110 communicator.

also the license for 3 years is only $170+

 

thats still cheaper than a GPS unit on its own anyway.

 

honestly.. im kinda tempted.... very tempted coz of the GPS capabilities. just that if i buy now... cannot buy iPhone when it comes out liao

6110 dun need to pay extra, only n95 need to pay!

 

6110 come with singapore, jb and kl map, all free, only pay if you want to use agps or download more map, so dun use the agps.

 

but for n95 u will need to pay to get map so this is diff....

Juz curious, do you guys set WAP as the default access point for the GPS? Coz I ran the GPS w/o simcard, after putting in the sim card, asked me to choose which access point to use. Wondering if WAP is the free one. Thanx.
