HaoKR, footrest could bend back but I decided to change.

Can't exactly remember the breakdown for the handle bar, lever and exhaust but I can check for you if you need it.

As poon is Bike dealer that's why they get original parts from yamaha dealer too, they do not sell modification parts. I wanted the originality too. I m happy. The mechanic, sales, admin staff r friendly n helpful. Taking about changi branch btw. Hahah

Dear bros,

My FZ16 is running at 40 K and i had experienced difficulties to start up engine yesterday for the first time. Finally able to start engine after several times trying. However, i felt the engine sounds bit heavy, n engine off suddenly at traffic light or any stopping point. Engine has very inconsistent sound push n pull type of feeling while its slow. suggested by one fren, it can be spark plug issue as i havent change it until now.

Pls suggest any relevant solution. Thank you

You're supposed to replace the spark plug every 8000km. It probably is the spark plug.

where your logic from?

The only reason why I'm not laughing with you is that I prefer laughing at you.

Have you read any owner's manual of any single cylinder motorcycle? 8000km is the recommended change interval for single cylinder. Single cylinder revs very high so wear and tear is faster. It is the first and the cheapest thing to check when there is engine having intermittent problem. The second thing I would check is the air filter. If its clogged you may also have problem because not enough air going in so the air fuel ratio is screwed up.

Thanks Zalk for your advise. I was not aware of it, becoz always heard of at least 30k km then change the spark plug. However, i have changed the Spark plug today, so its not stopping engine when i stop the bike in traffic light. However, the engine sound and push n pull feeling during riding haven't get better. So i may get the air filter changed tomorrow.

Isn't reading manuals is part of basic maintenance? If dont maintain bike how to go on bike adventure trip?

Actually you are right, we need to maintain our bike well. I am keep learning from mistakes and advises. Thank u

Exactly right? I mean you'd read the manual for your washing machine but not a machine you trust your life to? Just a few weeks ago there was a new rider with RXZ asking what his 2T light did and someone said its for 4T. He could have had a massive accident if the 2T level was low and caused piston jam. Your life literally depends on how well maintained the machine is.

According to spark plug manufacturer specs, its 20,000 miles for copper, twice that for iridium.

Which spark plug? Change interval for car and for four cylinder and for single cylinder is different. The lower the engine revs and the more cylinders, the longer the plug lasts. Honda, Suzuki, Sachs, Yamaha, KTM single cylinder all recommend to change the plug at far less than 32000km. The longest interval is for the Yamaha T135 and that's at 12000km. The rest are 8000km, Sachs even recommends 6000km.
