i have a pelican box , which i am contemplating to mount as a top box.

its not big to fit a helmet, but enough to fit other barang barang.

how do you guys mount it as a top box?

there are no mounting pts on the pelican, unless holes are drilled. but this will compromise the water proofness?

do you use an existing givi or HnB rack, and modify it?

those who have done it, care to share some pics, ideas, etc?

thanks

Even if you drill, the holes will still be facing downwards. It will be hard for water to seep in when the box is mounted on the bike. Water flow downwards due to gravity after all. Unless you want to bring the box underwater, then different story.

SW Motech sell mounting solution for pelican. But I think you still have to drill the box to install their mounting hardware.

Firstly you will need a rear rack for the pelican case to sit on. Depending your preference, there are adpator kits for the specific racks you install (example SW Motech as what Kinwei mentioned, or Hepco & Becker). Alternatively is to customise the mounting kit to the rack of your preference. Another solution is to fabricate a rear rack and mounting kit... you can do this at Bike Fabricator
