If intend to upgrade then choose the cheapest one?

For me, I would choose R15 V2.0 out of this 3 bikes.

If u r goin to use a bike for that long, my choice would be a spark or x1r. Then u can still keep e bike after u get ur class 2. N insurance is a lot cheaper compared to e 3 bikes u stated. Just my 2 cents. Enjoy n congrats bro

But i heard that rs 125 parts is hard to find in sg plus expensive if have .

Parts hard to find??? rode the rs125 replica way back in 06 and even then parts were never hard to find. if your interested in a particular bike, ask a few riders who ride that particular bike for a first hand account on the issues and problems with regards to that model.

DO NOT depend on second hand or third hand info. aprilias may be expensive and exotic, but there are many aprilia lovers out there and Personified motors cater mostly for aprilia riders so i never had to worry about parts.

currently riding the RS4 125 and no issues with regards to parts, mainly cause its a fairly new bike and the only parts i need to worry about are generic parts like spark plugs, nuts and bolts, ez things. The parts your friends are most ikely warning you about are stuff like fairings, piston, block etc, which you will never need unless you get into a very bad accident which results in an almost total lost of machine. Expensive? yeah since its italian, but the frequency of changing these parts? once in 5 years maybe? i been riding my RS4 125 since 2012 and never had to change a single expensive part or component, and do not foresee changing them anytime soon.

in short, go with what appeals to you and do your fair share of research. what do you want in a ride? top speed? torque? acceleration? affordable maintenance? great resale value? comfortable riding posture? stable riding experience?

if u really gonna keep your 2b bike for 2-3 years then spend abit more on your 2b bike since you gonna stick with it for that long. no point you choose a bike u "sort-of-like" over a bike you really like, and endure riding it for 2-3 years straight.

I will choose r15. look at the fuel economy. If you are going to keep for a few years, the only that can beat a 2a and 2 bike would be fuel consumption.

My advice get urself a spark or yamaha rxz. Both r reliable but the latter is a better workhorse. If u still wan a sport bike forget the r125 n r15..no power. U ll be better off with a kr or yamaha tzm..forget the sp and aprilla.if u ask me. Ask ard do ur research get some advice from the old tymers not those young wannabe mr know it all ok.

And if can pay cash for your first bike.

Don go get urself an european bike for your class 2b.

Congrats on passing.

My advice:

If you plan on upgrading (like a handful of us here), then get a second hand 2B bike with 2-3 years COE left, or depending on how soon you wanna upgrade.

A good guide line is you should be looking at $800-$1000 depreciation every year you have left with the bike. I.e. If you have 3 years left COE, you don't want to spend more than $3000 for the bike, assuming you will use until scrap.

DO NOT count on renewing COE because COE is ****ing unstable and unpredictable, considering our good for nothing LTA. (Look at today, COE for bikes just went up to 3k. Imagine those people who buy 1 year COE left then planned to renew when COE was only 1.7k... you get the idea.

The safest is buy a bike at the price which you are willing to absorb the depreciation based on the number of years left in COE.

It could be anything, but in my opinion, since you plan on upgrading, get a bike which is bigger and a bit more powerful (meaning, 150cc and above, and not kups) to get used to the weight and power of riding a slightly larger machine. But what's most important during your 2B days is getting your roadcraft skills developed, regardless of cc of bike.

With that said, get a bike that is close to it's expiry, ie. 2015/2016 and use until siao liao, then upgrade to your 2A/2 if money allows.

If you DO NOT plan on upgrading to 2A/2 EVER, then by all means, get a brand new if you can afford and stick with it.

200NS, Duke 200 or R15 v2 are good options for bikes to last the next 10 years (given you take care of them).

Don't go for 2-smokers, they won't make it through the first 10 months, considering their age.

Good luck and ride safe.

Edit: Oh ya and what others said above: try to pay full cash for your 2B bike.
