Food For Thought

Bread pudding.

Single light cream is the type of cream most commonly used for cooking. However, this type of cream should not be boiled as it will curdle. Also, always add hot liquids to the cream rather than the cream to the liquids, in order to avoid curdling. Single(light) cream has an 18 percent fat content.

Dear Friends,

I had a really terrible weekend. On Saturday, as I was approaching the T-junction at Teban Gardens Road, facing the beautiful reservoir (yeah, Sg.. anything manmade is beautiful *hic~* ) when I saw 2 TP bikes and a BMW highway patrol stopping by there.

Beside them were this overturned karangguni 19-ft lorry. Apparently it swerved and eeekk ekkkk... ekkk.. tebahbooommmm.. fell..

Kinda imagined myself being on his left and crushed under his 6ft high load, untied by anything...

Nothing really spared me from the incident yesterday afternoon though...

It happened on the other end of Teban Gardens Road, near the market.

I went to send a friend of mine to BBDC at 1pm. It started to drizzle badly. Upon reaching BBDC, heaven gates opened and drenched all the mortals big time..

Upon reaching back to the same junction 30minutes later, vehicles were moving at a snail-slow pace. I thought it was because of the slippery road....

I was really shocked when I saw a blue Super Four pinned down under a small Cabstar...

Beside it was a body draped in white plastic..

Along the lanes were big sportsbikes, nearly 10 of them... and something else made me shed a tear..

An old malay couple, two sisters were weeping uncontrollably..even the dad couldnt' help himself but shed like a baby...

Along the kerb were friends, head sunken low, some guys weeping openly...

They were in nice clothes, apparently I believed they were going for the wedding invitation nearby...

Could you imagine ...

A joyous occasion and a convoy of big beautiful bikes, marred by this incident which will scar their lives forever..and I was 30 minutes earlier than the arwah...

From the looks of it, it seemed the bike was turning right into the lane and the lorry was oncoming...

The impact was huge cos a bike as big as a S4 could get stashed down under a Cabstar. The deceased was not thrown far, fact, less than 3 metres away from his bike...

It made me realise one thing. It don't matter if your bike is small or big.

True, bigger bikes, better braking systems and acceleration. However nothing beats safety and perception...

I had always savour this dream of riding a big bike one day when I can afford to..

No, it ain't because of it being more glam nor faster mainly..

It was because I thought it will be much more safer...

But this sight made me rethink it twice. My emphasis now would be on us, riding with more alert, always checking oncoming vehicles rather than just the traffic lights alone as there are no right of way in Singapore. Whatever I've learnt is bull...

Al-Fatehah to the deceased and my condolences to the family of the poor chap..

To the rest of us.. please ride safely. No clownplaying or hot-shot riding on the roads please, esp in the weather these days..

I am glad you share the same sentiments as me. Accident dont just happen it is cause. So i do hope with accident you have seen will not deter you from riding it should make you more aware of our vunelureabity instead. Netherless always berdoa before you ride your motorcycle so that Allah swt will always look after you when you are on your journey.
