No lah..

That auntie reminds me of my late mom. An old lady with a very comforting face who will make u feel she'd be there to protect ya. Nothing beats that when you are feeling shitty. Treasure your mommas. :)

Anyways, I guess I don't have a penchant for sweet things.

Make it hot or make it sour. Make it sweet if it's meant to be forever.

Narada, I wrote something for you.. (kwa~ kwa~ kwa)

Kertas puteh salju, ku coretkan kedukaanku...

Hitam dan kelabu, adalah warna dalam hidupku...

Kejutkanlah aku kawan, aku sedang bermimpi..

Kejutkanlah aku yang sengsara dalam sepi...

Gementar kakiku, meniti titian usang..

Berdegup jantungku, apa dapat ku keseberang...

Hulurkan tanganmu kawan, aku takut tenggelam..

Hulurkan tanganmu kawan jurangnya amat dalam..

Jurangnya amat mengerikan..

Ramai yang telah kecundang...

Dia sedang menunggu untuk memimpinku...

Di seberang sana, adanya cahaya...

Little write up for Saturday...This is part of an article I'm gonna write soon... still building it up from fragmental pieces...just cant get it right till today :weep:

Rock music was frowned upon without fail by the old school of ardent followers of nasyid singers and bangsawan lovers. For them, rock music was the cause of a breakdown in the communal system of the Malay-Moslem youths.

It was made worse with images of the Devil, Pentagram, long-haired white guys in skimpy tight leather pants in awkward positions which would make a contortionist cry in shame from album covers of the unmissed casette tapes. The negative persona that it created was embraced by the Mat Rockers of the 80s who, almost always was a rebel in thoughts, deeds and attitudes, staying away from socio-norm of the money matters. For the normal malay society, Mat Rockers are a definite taboo.

Parents would shriek at their top voices when their daughters were seen with a Mat Rocker. Ladies would yelp when they see a Mat Rocker within a 5km radius it seems. They felt ashamed to be seen with a Mat Rocker beside them. They would rather be seen with nerdy, hiphop RNB Mats or brothers of the other races, never a Mat Rocker.

That would work both ways nonetheless. The Mat Rocker is still a rebel. In thoughts these days, no longer in appearances though.

Many failed to realise, not all of the ethics of a Mat Rocker is negative. Ask a Mat if his passion will cease and most likely you'd get DIO-positioned fingers ( \m/ ) and a thump-felt, foot stomping slogan of "ROCK NEVER DIES"

Uncles and aunties always thought of these as blasphemy. For them, nothing lives forever except God. But that is stretching the notion a tad too far. It's just a slogan. Not something that they used to disembody the essence of God.

M Nasir (Kembara), Nasir Jani (An indie filmmaker and master videographer who gets into trouble everytime), S Atan (yes, SATAN), Fauzi Marzuki of Flybaits somehow rebelled against the negativity which majoria society sets out for us Mat Rockers.

They did it in a silent but a definite effective way.

M Nasir created folk songs with definite rock essence about socio-stigma of the slacking Malay communities with Bus No. 13, Duit, Rupa Tanpa Wajah and Cetak Rompak.

Amongst all, rock bands start to follow suit and wrote songs about the essence of Islam and God in a way which people will put off as Mat Rocker crap. Remember Mentari Merah di Ufuk Timur, Sebatang Tongkat Untuk Berdiri by Search? Dari Tuhan, Hukum Karma by Wings? Keadilan and Seruan by Lefthanded? Maghrib and Dajal by Bumiputra Rockers?

These are definitely hard rock. Aunties will definitely give it a thumbs down.

Read up on the lyrics and understand why, a Mat Rocker was always judged and marginalised. Behind all that, it's true. Things are always judged on the surface, never to be fathomed.

And when they are finally understood, too bad, times up. And those who had been strong angry critics of Mat Rockers and their music and essentialism, will have to gulp down their words, with a mug of greenish liquid.
