Hihi.. wanna check with thise who hv taken tp before.. can we choose our bike for the tp? Will it be the same as the warmup bike?

Choosing bike for TP? No. You can't. Reason there is 50 testee to take test. :)

As the warm up the bike is to check whether is the bike is in good condition (e.g: mirror, brake so on....)

During the test is go by the group by group so there for as the bike is recycle (may 15 - 20 bike been use it as the rest of bike as spare). E.g: 1st group testee finish test follow by the 4th group testee take the bike (instructor will guide you alone)

P.S:

If you are the 1st, 2nd or 3rd group (which 05 person in 1 group as is base on foreign then follow by local and then by age from elder to young) maybe might lucky enough to choose abit good bike for yourself. ;)

Try as many bikes as possible and get used to the different biting points. You can only choose the leftovers especially if you are very young. They go by foreigners first then age.

Well.... All I can say it.

During the TP test if you had

-> 70% skill & 30% luck (if 2nd - 3rd retest that pass) mean the skill (improve the weak point) or home work (*) do more abit then other.

-> 70% luck & 30% skill (just 1st test pass) as the skill might just reach the minimum required but luck for sure is good enough.

-> 50-50% (1st time pass too)

Overall blame the bike, if fail the TP test it doesn't really help (the skill is good enough) but just tell today not a good luck day.

Just like "Heng77" say it: try as many bike as possible (practice make perfect on the riding skill) also *it a must to know when, where & which side to check (check back / blind spot).

After all, Fail to check 01 BS (blind spot) take 4 point & Improper checking 01 BS take 2 point... This are the easy target most of them will get. Which is why I say depends on the luck that TP day.

Geez, thanks for the replies! Seems like need more luck than skill? haha.

I typically do better on bikes with higher idle... else i always seem to throttle too much cos im afraid those with lower idle will stall.. haiz.. I really need lots of luck man.

It's more skill than luck. A lucky day might mean there are lesser traffic on road, you get the green light all the way and tester missing a few of your mistakes but skill will get you through all that any day. Go for as many revisions as you can. Show skill and confidence on test day.

Passed my Lesson 6 today...! Need to book a few more CR and RR then Lesson 7...!

Do more CR bro... don't waste too much $$$ for the RR... the RR is to practice more of the different check back and such. Do at least 2 when nearer to the test date. Before that do more CR to get more time on the bike to be more familiar with the bike. Most people fail because of the course...

RR important is

1. Form up when going out of SSDC.

2. Stopping BEFORE stop Line. Performing check BACK on the CORRECT SIDE... away from the kerb...

3. Filter lane entry and exit.

4. U-turn

5. Confidence in dealing with traffic lights.

6. Form up during re-entry.

7. Don't forget the FINAL BS check to the right after the hump when turning into the final stop point.

So if you have a desirable bike number but if they are not selected as one of the 50 bikes, then suck thumb rite...

There is one trick u can do.......

Say your TP date is on the Thursday... Take the FINAL CR on Wed night 8pm... ride that bike... You will park the bike in the EXACT position you will see it tomorrow morning... so... you... can use back the same bike... and the only problem is when you are younger... and not the first few to go... someone else MIGHT take your beloved bike first... so you need a few backup numbers...

U super familiar with all the checks, etc, very SPOT on... Sometimes i think u working in SSDC... haha

I just booked 1 CR and 1 RR before taking Lesson 7 next week. Or should I take just CR (2 times) and go for Lesson 7?

Just a question, lesson 7 is doing assessment on road right? Do they still test us on the circuit?

Lesson 7 is a full assessment. In fact it has 3 parts- 1) Ciruit, 2) Defensive Riding, 3) Public Road Test Route Riding. They will only be giving points for 1 and 3. Have to be below 18 points to pass. 2) is more on general riding, but should be ok unless ride really badly... which definitely cant be since you have reach lesson 7.

Rightfully, but yday when i do lesson 6, i see some still wobble, or ride very shakely. They repeated 2 - 3 times for lesson 6. Got 1 guy infront of me, he was inching out of Stop line (outside SSDC), a lorry was coming on the right, I saw him inching off the Stop Line very torquely, wah, I shouted Oei Oei.. he did stop, gave me some cold sweat man...

For those taking test, If you wobble on moving off, it's because you are not throttling enough. Throttle first then catch the biting point, not the other way. If you wobble when stopping, it is because you are not looking far enough. Keep your heads up, stop with confidence.

CR, I feel is must book cos u need to pass the timing of the courses too.

My motive for CR now is to use the bikes that I have recently identified to go thru CR once, so I can pick them again during Lesson 7.

During my last CR, I used bike #70, the feeling was quite different from my usual bike (#42, which I couldn't find it and is now nowhere to be found, maybe fixing up). And I want to be abit more certain that I can ride those bikes well especially at the figure of 8.

My thoughts.. keke... :thirsty:

Hi Guys, 1 quick question on U Turn.

If we are 3rd rider, and doing U Turn - Check back Inwards, when U Turning, check right blind spot.

If we are 1st rider, and have positioned correctly above the tip of the Kerb. We check back left and move off or check back right?
