Lithium grease is the premium kind of grease used in oil & gas industries. Its suppose to be more water resistance & high temp resistance & reduce the number of times a equipment need to be greased.

I saw it selling in a hardware shop for less than $10 - its a spray can type lithium grease.

I wonder if using it can reduce the no. of times to lube my chain. But i am not sure about its fling resistance. Anyone used it before?

Details here.

Tried before.

It will fling easily.

Also, the discoloration will make ur chain look ugly.

Think better stick to a good chain lube....

Same here, tried some spray on white lithium grease long time ago. 1st and the last time.

Grease attracts sand and dirt, which grind with the sprockets into an abrasive paste. Grease does not penetrate where the lubricant is required. In mechanical engineering, grease is not recommended for any form of exposed chain drive.

Actually it is, they stuff the O ring chains with lithium base grease. The small pack that comes with the masterlink is white lithium grease.
