i'm asking about ybr rims cos i wanna put it at my RXZ...

huhuhu...

I'm wondering...why u wanna put YBR rims onto ur RXZ? Any good reason? Performance? Price? To me, its the same.

Why not get Sport Rim instead? LAB selling 8 spoke, 17 inch, 1 pair of Racing Boy for $95 last time I asked including workmanship. Bridgestone Battlax will be $145 for the rims.

Hope its useful.

guys, need your help. my front brake produces a screeching sound whenever i try to use it.

is it because of my disc brake?

Just wanna add something for those going for the gathering.... be careful when going JB, especially with so many criminal cases happening there. Most important is, come back to Singapore you and your bike in one piece, not in pieces, or WORST... gone.

Stay in groups and maintain look out.

All the best, and enjoy your gathering.

ACTUALLY, I did, once... I gave up.

I recommend 2 workshops which I have visited.

Planet Motorcycle Service Centre

Blk 3007 Ubi Road 1 #01-430

Singapore 408701

Owner: Ah Chong 67474740

Note: Owner a bit fierce looking, but actually friendly. Shop open until about 2130 last time I visited. But don't go there after 7 to do repairing, he is going to be pissed:( . Maybe get bulbs for headlight, tail light or fuse for self-fixing after 7 is recommended. Service quality average, with advise.:thumb:

The other one is directly opposite LAB Workshop at Kallang. This is a Malay owner, 1 man show. I call the owner Abg. Boy. He is a bit strict on credit, so make sure after service, pay him promptly. No credit allowed. Service quality good, with advise.:thumb:

Those 2 are the recommended ones, for newbies.

Anyway, for those who wants to visit malaysia for mods... just go there to do physical changes, fairing, footrest, upsized brake disc, gear lever, clutch and brake lever, rims and tyres. I really DO NOT recommend engine servicing. Although it is way cheaper.

Good luck!

Last checked at LAB, Racing Boy Disc brake with patterned edges, $85 including installation, about bracket, must ask again.

Not recommended the patterned edges, get a normal circular oversized disc. Works better. Recommended by my mechanic.

When you change disc brake, advisable to change brake pads also.

All the best. :thumb:

Hi I am new to RXZ, just bought 2nd hand 22yrs old RXZ! Done quite abit of repair to make the bike work better. Now its the engine... The bike vibrate quite abit at rpm above 5-6k and at 4-5 gear, the bike seems not to go smoothly when throttle hard.

Anyone can advise on what is the problem and solution to that?

How much would that normally cost?

Which bike shop is TRUSTABLE to do the overhaul and not charge too high or change thing that is uneccessary?

What's there to look out for when overhauling the engine?

The price im not sure...it range from 300rm to as high as 800rm...depend on the probs too...yeah rm...for me i always repaired at jb...Singapore im not sure...maybe the other here can help...

For me its best it use original yamaha parts when overhaul...use local part will only be nightmare in the long run...

Cheers for the advise. But to overhaul in M'sia will means leaving the bike there and take a bus back to Singapore? Then few days later go in again on bus? Too troublesome man.

Anyone who have recommendation for Singapore bikeshop that is reliable and wun chop ppl like carrot? hee hee. Also the price range?

Or is there other alternative then to overhaul?

So far only heard the pros... no cons yet.

Reduced heat while braking due to a larger area surface, meaning everytime you brake, will be easy on your disc brake. Normal disc brake will sometime become ineffective if too much braking and hot.

Circular disc brake is better than the patterned ones. (Not sure about the reasons)

No worries during vehicle inspection.

Bigger brake disc, greater safety.

Change your brake hose to increase safety.

My mechanic recommends bigger brake disc.

Thank you.:p
