Cheers for the advise. But to overhaul in M'sia will means leaving the bike there and take a bus back to Singapore? Then few days later go in again on bus? Too troublesome man.

Anyone who have recommendation for Singapore bikeshop that is reliable and wun chop ppl like carrot? hee hee. Also the price range?

Or is there other alternative then to overhaul?

Trust me on this.

Visit the 1 man show mechanic/owner directly in front of LAB workshop at Kallang.

Tell him about the bike's problem. Mention all the details and specifics. Listen to what he recommends.

Ask him in advance for the quote.

See what you can afford...

When done, pay him promptly.

And don't forget, buy him a drink...tea or coffee NOT beer.

Ask him for tips.. bike tips, racing tips, handling....

I'm sure he can help you.

Good luck!

Yeah, bad, second hand bike, what can i do? Besides, its my first bike, inexperience. But I learn a lot from my friends and the mechanic. And I'm not going to set foot on JB on my bike again. Cheap stuff but poor workmanship with no guidance and tips.

This month spent a total of $526 on my bike alone. Anyone got a bad experience with JB mechanics?

Wow, wat did u do to ur bike to have spent so much? U overhaul is it?

See the STAR? That is where the shop is. LAB Workshop is directly opposite facing each other. Abang Boy is the owner. Malay guy.

It is inside a factory complex, something like the ones in Ubi Road 3. Lots of motor shops there. First shop on the left when you enter is a scooter shop. This Abang Boy shop is on the right. 2nd shop from the staircase.

Wow, wat did u do to ur bike to have spent so much? U overhaul is it?

Here is a list of what I did at JB:

- Racing Boy Sport Rims 17 inch including spray

- Dunlop TT900 (80/80 Front / 80/90 Rear)

- Footrest

- Oversized Disc Brake

- Brake pads, front and rear

- Gear Pedal

- Brake and Clutch Lever

- Spray Exhaust Black

Total: RM 710 / SGD 316

Come back Singapore:

- Weld broken body

- Repair front fork + bushing

- Engine Leakage Repair

- Short circuit (causing fuse to vaporize when switched on)

- Tail Light Melt

- Change Front and Rear Spocket to match Rims (16F / 43R)

Total: SGD 210

Total Cost/Caused: SGD 526

Till now, I still got problems with the brake pads. Causing the wheels not to run freely as if the brake pads are over sized.

Well, looking at all da changes dat u had done i tink da price is justified. Did u service ur front brake piston bro, maybe its a bit jam, maybe u cld get ur mech to bleed ur front brake pump n service it for u, hopefully it'll solve da problem.

He did that for me at no cost too. Even changed the brake fluid.

For now its ok. As long as I can go to work, and go back home safely, it'll be fine.

Say, whats your mileage for a full tank? What petrol do u use?

Old Mileage: 180++ km / 9 litres - Shell 98

Current Mileage: To be confirmed... just changed to Caltex Techron 98

Engine Oil: Castrol Activ

2T: Currently Shell VSX - changing to Castrol Power 1 (cheaper)

In dat case it shld ok by nw, its hard to compare our milleage bro, some bikes r stock some r mod, it depends on ur piston size too, even da type of petrol dat u use makes a different. I pump either Shell, ExxonMobil or SPC. For 2T i'm using SPC 2T Alpha, fragrance n low smoke cost got it cheap n i'm selling it at $6 per btl.

I remember somebody telling to check EO thru the right engine casing. I can find the tranparent hole but how to check if anything is wrong? I just had an accident (slow drop), and alot oil flow out.

At 1st i thought is petrol so i din't care, but it ended up that my full tank still runs 330 km. This makes me wonder if it is my EO that flows out. How?

Just browsing around for RXZ forum n found so many, look like got alot of small individual groups of RXZ riders, the "Yamaha RXZ lovers" seem to have the most view at 90000 plus compared to the rest, imo it should stay.

1993-95 - Honda CB750 ,Ford Escort , Chevy Cavilier RS

1995-98 - Yamaha Virago XV1100
