hey guys, i saw this rxz with a unique tank cap. those tank caps like super 4, rounds and bolt on to the tank. anybody knows how much and where to do it? i find it very useful and wish to do one for my Z. any drawbacks about that tank cap feature? thanks!

usually they use tzm fuel cap..abt the price i dunno lah bro..maybe the others can help..

 

but do bear in mind that ur tank capacity will decrease..

bro,at the carb itself is stated the brand...if its stated mikuni and 'made in japan' then its original...if not it will only state mikuni but no 'made in japan' then its local.....that i'am really sure cos got 1 local carb...1 mikuni thailand carb & 1 original carb...heheheheheh....uma-man,syam,blurchaoz...correct me if i'm wrong!!!

Don't be bro, it's alrite if I see someone making full use of it rather then lettin it collect dust. Up to u lah if u wann give it back to me or not, can sure use it as emergency spare! Hehe... Uhhh... Exchange other parts ah? If I ask u to exchange tat specific parts, u cry later. How??? Hahaha...

1.first what you need is to get a tzr,tzm, kr or any desired type of tank brand that you wish from the scrapyard.

 

2.bring it to the shops to help you modify it...

out of the whole tank that you purchase from the scrapyard they will only use the center portion where the tank cap is due to the molding ...

 

3.if happens that the tank cap dosent have the key with it... you can either get a locksmith to help you open it up by making a key... worst case scenario you have to buy a new tank cap.

 

4. a new paint work for your tank is needed to cover up the welding scars.

 

the draw back as what bro kewacks said less capacity fuel in your tank but not that much, maybe 500ml lesser. fuel will still leak out from the tank cap if you fill it up full.

this 1 i just have to point out so as u guys are not tricked by shop pple and for your own knowledge..

guys dont get the wrong idea. im not here to boast or wat lah.. its 1cent of wat i really know bout rxz.

 

our rxz catagorize in 3 classification.. its the very first model, japan comes with y-1 or y-2 block.. second would be malaysia model, y-3. thirdly is the recent production thailand model catalyzer, parts number 5pv..

 

originally japan production bike will state the mikuni corp & made in japan in embossed printings. plus engraved with parts number/model number tat is 55K

 

malaysia model will be still the same mikuni corp in embossed. and the engraved parts number 55K.. only difference is there be no made in japan engravings..

 

lastly the catalyzer model.. same mikuni corp embossed. the carb will be much smaller in size with a weird distingtive "L" piping head which draws petrol from your fuel **** line.. mostly is engraved with a 5PV which is the model/parts number..

 

as for local carbs.. u can tell be looking at the compound of the material.. local carbs are normally much pale and dull in colour.. it wouldnt look like the original material. and these local producers are quite smart. they can have the same embossed mikuni corp.. but the be no parts number e.g. 55K nor the 5PV and size of the carb an embossed 26 at the part where u slot it in to your air box manifold..
